Byron Bay has a relaxed, social atmosphere which is also present in this hostel. The hostel is quite large with numerous facilities including a volleyball court, pool table, small swimming pool, and direct access onto Byron Bays main beach.
Backpackers Inn on the Beach is situated about a ten minute walk from the coach stop, however the hostel does provide shuttle buses at certain times throughout the day.
The hostel has a real party feel as various entertainment such as sangria nights, BBQs, and soccer competitions are provided most evenings. This means the hostel is usually quite noisy, however the hostel management do try to observe quiet time after 11pm, by offering a shuttle service to Byron Bays popular Bars.
The dorm rooms are fairly spacious and clean and there are enough bathrooms to cater for a hostel of this size. Showers and toilets are cleaned daily as is the large kitchen which has plenty of cooking facilities/utensils, but no other items such as cooking oil/spices which is sometimes provided by other hostels. The hostel's facilities are often free or very cheap, however a deposit is needed for many items such as body boards, kitchen sets, games, room keys, blankets, etc.
Overall this is a nice clean hostel, best suited to those seeking a sociable party atmosphere.
