1  IN NEED OF AN UPDATE we stayed here for a week on a sports trip. the hostel is in a poor state of repair; the showers dont work properly; the kitchen was dirty; and the beds, sheets, pillows were dirty and in need being replaced. i would not recommend anyone stay here until they have sorted the place out. I'm not someone expecting a top hotel for hostel prices, but if you just want somewhere to have a shower and good nights sleep this is not worth it.  , english ()
1  Bit of a fawlty towers effort We would not be a fussy group of lads by any means and were just looking for a bed for the night really. Rooms were rough and ready but that was to be expected. Problem we had was with the hostess arriving into our room twice without knocking or anything. Once when we were getting ready to head out at about 9 o clock and once at half 3 in the morning when we were home. She actually put the code into the lock on the door, opened it, and walked straight in without knocking. We laughed at it really but it's pretty shocking carry on. Someone here mentioned the don't do this sheets which there are a lot of and I think these surprise visits were to check that we weren't drinking there firstly and that we hadn't guests back after the club. I'd recommend a hotel in the town which could be got the weekend we were there for 4 euro extra a man but we thought the hostel might be better craic. Which it wasn't.  , Ireland ()
1  Charged me for their mistake The hostel screwed up my booking, they had me down to arrive a month earlier than I booked. Charged me for the room for that night anyway and then hung up on me when I was trying to find out exactly how much they had charged me and book the room for the current night.  , Irish ()
4  Grand, not a palace! I thought that this place was grand, sure I dont know what some people expect for such little money per night! Ok it was a bit dirty but was great craic for partying and groups of people. We were a group of seven lads just going up for a wild weekend so it suited us down to the ground!  , Ardee Hey! ()
1  Awful I stayed here with three friends. The room we had was grimy, the bunkbed was more suitable for kids, kind of wobbly, hard to climb up, the pillows, mattresses and duvets were old and worn out and the bedding was stained. The blind had fallen down, a bright spotlight shone down on me the whole night from the balcony which was locked. It was cold especially because all the windows were opened all day, presumably to fight off mould. It smelled musty and damp. The kitchen was grotty and locked a lot of the time. The water was cold, on both days I could not wash or shower. The whole place was seedy and I'm sure two of the photos on the cheery website are of the owner's house, which is next door. There was a large stag party in, who kept us awake the whole night, the owner did give us a refund for that night out of their deposit, but as we were only there two nights, feeling tired and grimy did spoil our trip. At no time did she intervene to shut them up though she later claimed she did. It is overpriced for such a shoddy dive. I would not let my cat have a holiday here.  , English ()
2  A place to sleep, not more! Very good shower. Acceptable standard of hygiene. So no complaints about that. Has got beds -- no complaints about that. Cold atmosphere, the warden is mostly absent, the guests as well. No common room, a lot of "Don't do this sheets."  , German ()
1  Kind of disgusting We stayed at this hostel in April of this year. Generally the hostel smelled musty and the kitchen was poorly equipped and in generally poor condition. The pillows and quilts were torn and filthy once you took the covers off. Will not stay there again.  , Canada ()
1  Noisy There were very noisy party groups in the hostel. Luckily I managed to sleep three to four hours. The hostel was a bit messy.  , Finnish ()
