The Hostelz.com Review
Central Hostel Pisa is just what a backpacker needs to regain energies for continuing the journey. It boasts an easy location, sufficient facilities, and mostly new appearance (although you see that the building is not new).
The Location
Outside the main region with the attractions, it is located within walking distance from the Airport (around a kilometer), the train station (five hundred meters), and the Pisa Tower (one-and-a-half kilometers). It is easily found -- you only need to walk one street from the train station and two from the airport. Parking in Pisa doesn't seem that easy, and the hostel has no parking spaces. It's not so close to the river, so there are not so many mosquitoes.
Rooms and Bathrooms
It is a big hostel, with four floors and many different types of rooms. Some of them share a toilet, others have the bathroom in the room. Every room has a locker per bed, but you have to bring your own lock or buy one at the reception. The mattresses are in good condition, and the pillows are comfortable.
The bathroom is big enough but neither soap nor specific places to put toiletries and clothes are provided. The shower is ok, but be careful with the curtain, which is thin and allows some drops of water to pass through. The heating system in the room is very good (maybe a little too good), keeping it warm such that you don't need a blanket to sleep.
Common Spaces
Several common spaces are provided in this hostel -- there is a room with some tables in case somebody wants to have breakfast there (although breakfast is not provided), a couch, and a TV as well as a game room; computers are available, and Wi-Fi is free in the whole hostel. There are not so many people around there, but the spaces are there. The hostel also has agreements with party places, with reduced entry fees or exclusive parties.
Summary
This is a hostel that provides a number of facilities and charges below average price, and certainly is recommended. The staff are also friendly, so if you go to Pisa, this is a very good place to stay.
