Great value and location My wife and I stayed at Sarah's for three nights in January. We enjoyed the stay a great deal. Food and drinks were readily available, the rooms were perfectly good (especially given how cheap they are), and the staff were able to help us out with everything we needed. Very chill place with a mixed crowd ranging from twenty-somethings to fifty-somethings. Always felt welcome.

Everyone was pleasant and certainly did more than enought to please their guests. My daughter and I were there in early 2006 for over three weeks and because it was so close to everything and all at Sarah's were more than congenial, we did extend our stay before going on to Bangkok and home. In fact we are planning at the end of this year or early next year to return and return to Sarah's. It get an excellent rating and especially with the rates for what we had!

Excellent place — I have stayed here twice. Clean, good value and great location; I will definitely come again.

No outside food or drink, no noise after 9 p.m. and I was told my new friends, a Kiwi couple, could not join me for dinner there. The staff were unfriendly and we were kicked out of the restaurant area at 9 p.m. by an English chick — devoid of personality, who works there. We broke most of the rules in rebellion by drinking in my room with my new friends and 2 other guests staying at the hostel. Our rebellion was squashed around 11 p.m. and all three parties staying there checked out the next day.

This is not the cheapest guesthouse in Chiang Mai but it definitely is one of the worst. The rooms are dirty, the blankets filthy and the hostess' smile was nonexistent.
