The Hostelz.com Review
Rick's Causeway Coast hostel is a wonderful place to stay. Rick and Kasha, the owners, will greet you with a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits by their coal fire in the cozy sitting room. Their plants, books, and homey clutter will make you feel like you are right at home. At the time of this review, Rick and Kasha are currently living in the hostel while an addition is being built on to the back of the building, so the hostel feels homey because it is their actual home.

Although the hostel is not new, it is well kept and clean. The rooms are clean, warm, and spacious. You can get a private room ensuite with a skylight where you can catch glimpses of the ocean and the occasional rainbow. The walls all have pictures of local sights and Rick and Kasha's adventures as Rick was a former backpacker himself. The bathrooms are clean and are home to the very best showers in all of Ireland. They have "power showers" which are exactly as they sound -- powerful! The only catch is that there is only hot water during certain times of the day, but the times are convenient normal times that people usually take showers. The kitchen is clean and has plenty of space to make a meal and sit and chat with other guests. Currently they do not have laundry facilities because of the renovation going on, but there is a launderette right around the corner (if you can catch them when they are open). You will be given a key to the door so you may come and go as you please.

The hostel is located just a few steps from the Atlantic Circle bus stop, the Promenade, and the ocean. You will not want to leave this ideal location and the warmth and hospitality of Rick and Kasha.

4  Nice hostel, great owner the owner was very nice and accommodating. the hostel is right off the bus stop and close to everything in town. there was a common room with lots of books and a kitchen for guest use. we got a private room. everything about the hostel was good, it wasn't the cleanest but it wasn't too bad.  , usa ()
5  Excellent hostel, very friendly and accommodating. Well equipped kitchen and sitting room. Rick has furnished the place like a home more than a hostel. Brilliant location in the lovely town of Port Stewart.  , England ()
4  Three of us stayed here on Good Friday, and we managed to have an eight-bed dorm room to ourselves. It was very clean, and the staff extremely friendly. Bathrooms were also clean but the showers weren't too great, hot but not much pressure. They even lent a towel since we'd forgotten one. Cant really say much about the actual town, it was all closed and very quiet on Good Friday, we had a meal and then went to bed. But liked that the hostel was quite close to the sea.  ()
5  I stayed in Rick's place about 12 years ago. I loved it because of its lovely atmosphere. Now I am no longer a backpacker anymore but I will be back in Eire in September with my son Oisín and I would love to come back!!  ()
5  I spent one day in the hostel... Very good owner and his wife. Besides, there is a very nice view of the ocean. I hope I come back to the hostel once again.  ()
