Dirty, tatty, badly needs refurbishment, unfriendly owner, overpriced I stayed three nights in Laune Valley Farm Hostel and would not recommend it to my worst enemy. The kitchen is dirty, not well equipped, cups stained, plates chipped and cracked. Bathrooms also dirty, dorm dark and tatty, mattress lumpy, bunks nailed together and shaky. I would consider €17 per night in dorm to be very overpriced, especially for standard of hostel. The owner needs to reinvest and refurbish if she is to get repeat business and stay open. — Anne , Irish (2008-03-25) A rural experience with lovely "staff" (Aine and co) and cosy atmosphere. I was told that they don't know when beds are available as they wait for guests to decide if they want to extend their stay or not on the morning of departure. That's all good and well if you're already there, but it does not make any sense in my opinion as the hostel is turning away bookings in the hope of an existing guest staying on.
