4  A great Hostel with a great owner This hostel is very nice, in all side. Is very clean and it has a beautiful view on the pony park. The owner, Mr. Bartley is very nice and kind -- he do for you the Magic Map, a map of the surroundings and the Sky Road.  , Italy ()
5  I have been traveling to Ireland three times over the past three years to visit family. I always take some time out to do a little side trekking. There are three things I like about Ireland the most -- people such as Richard (Brookside proprietor) who are willing to stop what they are doing to enjoy a long happy conversation (craic) with an absolute stranger. the great hiking which Richard can help you out a great deal with -- part of the craic. and the music, which unfortunately, is not that great in Clifden, which Richard is not responsible for.  , USA ()
4  This hostel was the best we stayed at in all of Ireland. Richard was very helpful and gave us the "magic map" of Clifden. Without it you can't behold all the beauty this town has to offer. I highly suggest staying at this hostel and in the town at least three nights. Words can not express the landscape or the feelings that come from seeing it.  ()
5  Fantastic. I have been taking sixth form students to Brookside Hostel since 1992 and can recommend it highly. It is a superb hostel and the proprietor, Richard Bartley is a fabulous host and the true epitome of the word gentleman. In fact, I'm going out again this year -- that's seventeen years! My students will be painting in and around Clifden, Roundstone, the Aasleigh Falls -- I can't wait.  ()
5  Fantastic hostel, definitely recommended, as Richard and Rose are lovely people, very kind and helpful. Ask Richard to give you a map; he'll send you on a walk with views you will never forget!!!  ()
4  This is a lovely hostel situated right on the doorstep of Clifden town. The owner and his wife are very friendly, and willing to offer tourist information. We even hired bikes from them for 10 euros for the day! There is a kitchen and TV room, and everywhere is quite clean. I would return to this hostel. And if you come here during the Clifden horse show, you will have a great view of the events in the showgrounds from your bedroom window!  ()
