The Hostelz.com Review
Enjoy Budapest Hostel is an incredibly friendly, home-like, family-run hostel. The staff do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable and make you feel welcome -- it feels more like you are staying at an old friend’s house rather than a hostel. Once a week they cook a free Hungarian dinner for all the guests. It has no curfew, no lockout, free Wi-Fi and a twenty-four-hour reception.
The Location
The hostel is located in a very central area of Budapest on the Pest side of the river. It is about ten minutes’ walk from all the main sites and two minutes from the Astoria metro station. From the train station take the red line (metro 2) to Astoria. Walk down Rasouski street, the hostel is on the lefthand side just before the first left turning.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There are three dormitories, each with six beds, with free linen included. The beds are separate rather than bunk beds and very comfortable. The rooms are very spacious for the number of people in them. There are large locker storage spaces beneath each bed. The bathrooms are very clean and modern although there are only two, so be prepared to wait a little in the morning. The showers have good water pressure but imprecise temperature controls.
Common Spaces
There is a comfortable and social lounge with a television and a large selection of DVDs and board games. There are also computers with internet in the reception which are free to use. The kitchen has all the appliances you could need and a range of condiments free for everyone to use. It even has a very impressive coffee machine, which makes delightful coffee. There is a fridge full of alcoholic and soft drinks which are very cheap. There is also a washing machine that is free to use.
Summary
This is a wonderful, family-run hostel in the centre of Pest that feels like a second home. Whether you want to party or see the beautiful sights of Budapest, this is the perfect retreat while you stay here. We would definitely recommend staying at this hostel.
