We wanted to go to Montreux for just a night during the Jazz Festival, and most places were full but we called Rivera Lodge the night before and they had space. We were very surprised at how nice this hostel was. You get a Rivera card which gives you free buses, trams, and other transportation as well as discounts (we used it to get an amazing price on Chateau Chillon). Good location, clean, very nice. — Amanda (2006-07-31)

We loved the Riviera Lodge. Vevey was a charming little town that was perfect for a two-day stay. The accomodations were clean, comfortable, and charming. We would stay there again in a heartbeat! — American Tourist (2006-05-18)

The Riviera Lodge was a FANTASTIC find! We stayed in a double room and it was clean and darling!! The bathrooms were extremely clean as well!! The location couldn't be better, we had a great view of Lake Geneva from our room!! Vevey is a darling little town just a short bus ride away from Montreax and the Chateau Chillon (which I recommend!) All-in-all, our stay at Riviera Lodge was SUPERB!!! I recommend it 100 percent!!! — Jen from U.S.A. (2005-03-30)

Maybe it was the time of year (Nov. '02), but this hostel was awesome. It was almost empty, and we got a big old room with a fantastic view of mountains and the lake and the market across the street. It has great 70s futuristic furniture in the common area, and a great, small winter mountain town feel, great for us Canucks! The country is ridiculously expensive, so take advantage of their coupon book, and supermarket wine and beer. The staff are tremendously helpful and kitchen has everything you need. There's Internet, too.
HINT: the Swiss love chocolate. There's a not-well-guarded bowl at reception. Enjoy. — Geoff (2005-03-21)

Bloody beautiful. It's modern, clean, quiet, has an incredible view, and is the most amazing value ever. Great people, cheap--I can't recommend this place highly enough. — Pat (2004-09-06)

Hmmm, I'm giving this place a very tentative Average. I got into our dorm room in the evening to find a mother with two very young kids in our 10 bed dorm and the bunks in the middle of the room pushed together creating a scarily intimate scenario for couples in the 10 bed dorm! Eeek! So I don't think much of the environment they are trying to create. I just want somewhere safe to sleep, not lovey dovey roommates and screaming kids... It is nice that they have a kitchen, although the bench tops could do with some renovation (a bit rundown). I have to say that the lady who checked us in was wonderful and VERY friendly and helpful with information. — Cath G (2004-08-09)

Decent hostel in a picturesque town - make sure you go to the market if you get the chance. Had a great day here. — Clare Compton (2004-03-16)

This hostel was very clean and tidy, with good kitchen facilities. It was quiet (we had an 8 bed dorm to ourselves). The staff were helpful. Be careful about car parking as our car was towed away by the police from outside the hostel. Just make sure you find out if there are any special events on that make the hostel parking spaces out of use. We enjoyed our stay here. — Craig and Aurelie Broadway (2003-10-26)
