Service AnimalsHow is Walking Street Hostel Pisa rated on other websites?

Liked: This hostel has a great location which allows easy access to the train station, bus stop, airport and also within walking distance to the major sights. Disliked: This hostel was very unclean with a dog that is kept inside and there is only one bathroom to serve all the dorm rooms. As well as being unclean, the kitchen/ common, which is very close to the rooms, was always very noisy at night with guests and also staff with no apparent noise curfew. There is free wifi but unfortunately it had very poor signal in the rooms and meant that it was not easily accessible.
For these reasons I would not stay at this hostel again and wouldn't recomend it to friends or family. I think that it would be easy to find somewhere much nicer and its location is not worth the discomfort I found at this hostel.

Liked: Great location, right in the middle of the shopping district and a block from the river. Disliked: The massive bed rooms are a rough way to travel with people coming in and out, turning on the lights and messing with loud lockers all night. No hand soap in the bathrooms.

Liked: The staff couldn't be more friendly & helpful. Central location. Disliked: Kitchen facilities could be more than a microwave. Other hostellers not bothering to clean up after themselves (but that doesn't reflect on the property).

Liked: It was well located. Disliked: So many things...
First, we didn´t even stayed at the hostel. They´ve put us in another house 5 minutes walking from the hostel. There was nobody (staff) in that house so everything was really messy and dirty. There was no computer, tv or any facilities there as well.
Second, it really seemed like the staff was drunk all the time. It´s not safe at all, the guy that receipt us when we arrived dind´t even remember us in the next day.
Third, they´ve put more people in the rooms then beds, so when I came back from the tour THERE WAS A GUY SLEEPING IN MY BED. I had to share the bed with a friend!!!!!!!! That was really awkward!!!!!!!
Also, tha bathrooms were terribly unusable. They were dirty and wet.

Liked: Where to start... It's in a great location and the staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly - they helped me with my case up and down the stairs as I have health problems. I also got an upgrade to a private double as they didn't want me to have more stairs than necessary. They knew the area and recommended a nearby, cheap internet cafe to print my boarding pass. This is easily the best hostel I've stayed in in Italy - a proper hostel not just a few rooms with as many beds packed in as possible. It was clean and tidy. Disliked: The kitchen was a bit basic, and as others have said the downstairs door to the street was always open as it served several businesses. The building lift wasn't working when I was there, but I'm not sure it was supposed to be used by the hostel.

Liked: Good location (though Pisa is so small that this is not that hard to achieve). When I was staying it was very cheap at only 11 EURO per night including city tax. Disliked: Terrible first impression. When I arrived at 14.15 to check in (check in is at 1400) I originally got told to pay the wrong amount, even though I said it was wrong, I had to actually point it out. Mistakes happen sure, but the guy didn't even seem apologetic. After I paid, he then informs me that I cannot place my bags in the room as he has an inspection. So a backpacker hostel is not allowed to have bags in the room? Okay. And why was I only informed of this AFTER I paid. The whole thing seemed very dodgy at that stage but I left my bags in the lobby. The building is unsecure. Anyone can walk through both doors, door to building and door to hostel. Also there were no keys for the bedrooms so anyone could walk into the bedrooms at any time. The staff slept in the common room which is quite weird. Loud music was played in the common room past midnight. Overall terrible experience. Apart from the cheap price again, I would not recommend this place.

Liked: Couldn't speak more highly. Perfect location. A bathtub in the bathroom! I felt almost at home. Beds were comfortable, and the common room was enormous! The staff was so friendly; we all enjoyed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together. They even fixed us a Christmas dinner, Italian style. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this hostel. Disliked: Nothing. It was excellent.

Liked: I liked the location and the cost. Disliked: It felt slightly unsafe to me. The main doors in the building were always open and there were no keys to the rooms. One day all the doors were open and I just walked into my room without anyone questioning me or having to go through any locks. The security lockers also did not actually have a lock. They were also experiencing some problems with the hot water heater and subsequently, I was freezing cold for both nights I stayed there.

Very host friendly hostel I had a nice stay in this hostel -location is very good and facilities as well (library, free tea and coffee, biscuits) the staff cares about details and this creates very pleasant atmosphere. — Zuzana (2012-06-13)

Fine very warm and friendly. — Ju and Bata GOLY, France (2011-03-10)

80% On the positive side, the location was very good (close to central station and very easy to find), the staff was nice and spoke English well. What I did not like that much: the entry to the hostel was rather complicated (ok, but manageable -- just 2 gates + 1 door), the number of bathrooms (just 2 -- so there was some queue building up in the evening), and I did not sleep well. Not only me, I heard other people not sleeping, too. Not sure what the exact reason, but probably a combination of the rooms being too hot and the mattresses not the most comfortable. Still, I would recommend it. — Paulius, Lithuania (2010-07-07)
