Top!
Very friendly staff and quite cheap. It was perfect. I would go back any time.

It was always clean and the staff were very helpful. Especially look out for Pisti, as he is the man! The free breakfast was just bread and jam but the location made up for that, as it's in a really nice area a little way from the center. Great stuff.

Just a few things about the Red Bus 2; they DO NOT accept credit cards!! Make a note of that because the above info is false. Very annoying for the backpacker who doesn't like to carry tens of thousands of forints around. The staff was a bit off-putting at first (especially about our shock that credit cards were not accepted) but proved to be friendly through the rest of our stay. If you happen to stay in the dorm rooms near the kitchen be prepared for the loudest hardwood floors ever made. Ninjas could not sneak up to you if they walked on that! The street noise is a bit much at all hours, but then again Budapest just seemed to be a loud city in general.

Good hostel, the staff are great and very helpful. The location is great, about 3 blocks from Keleti Pu. The rooms are spacious and the beds are pretty good. I only criticize the price of the Internet and laundry, which was a little high. There are cheaper places to do both in the city. However, I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Budapest.

This hostel had a very informal, intimate atmosphere - the rooms, reception, and kitchen are all right next to each other. The dorm was spacious and clean, and in particular the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful - one guy actually spent hours helping us sort out the next stage of our journey. The laundry service is very efficient and the free breakfast is reasonable. My only criticism would be that the showers aren't too great - they are more like a hosepipe, with only a small curtain to hide you!
