Tel Aviv-Jaffa

Tel Aviv-Jaffa is the largest city in Israel and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The city is at the heart of Israeli society and represents the coming together of Israel’s contemporary life and its ancient roots. A tourist can find pretty much anything that he is looking for here – from the ancient buildings of Old Jaffa, to the century old Bauhaus buildings of the White City, from the business district, to the diverse social centers and old-style markets.

Tel Aviv stays warm for the better part of the year, so come prepared to enjoy the fine beaches anytime between February and October! You will also find here the broad array of galleries, museums, theatres, and other cultural centres for which Tel Aviv is known.

Last But Not Least… The Israelis!

Israelis are a genuine and warm people who are as eager to make new friends as they are happy to point a stranger in the right direction. Although sometimes perceived as rude or pushy, Israelis are actually very generous by nature. Whether on the bus, or in the market, you will find locals who will be pleased to practice their excellent English and make your acquaintance!

Florentine Backpackers Hostel Reviews from the Web
5 Liked: It is my 2nd time at this hostel. That tells a lot from the get go. I had such a blast a year ago, i decided to come again this year! This time i stayed 8 nights (last year only 2). The people who work there are the kind of people you keep as your friends. The crew is totally dedicated to getting to know their guests, so it wasnt a surprise to me when they remembered me from last year!:) The location of the hostel is fantastic, just a short walk from the beach, and in a hippy neighborhood of Florentine. The facilities at the hostel are great, everything thing is done with a careful thought of the customer, which i love. The place is spotless clean and they clean ALL THE TIME. The famous by now rooftop social area is the heart of this hostel. All guests love to mingle and share stories from home and their travels. Music is fanstastic too. Wifi is superfat and they have 2 wifi's, one on each floor. They have plenty of organized activities trying to integrate everyone even more. When i was there, we had a huge bonfire and grill for the Israeli holiday Lag Baomer. During my stay there, i felt the staff and the people staying at the same time were like a family. Such a great feeling when traveling alone. Theyre really helpful with giving you advice for how to organize your next leg of the trip and always give great advice. They will bend over backwards to find things for you. I wanna give a huge shoutout to staff workers Natalie, Ron and Nitzan and all their volunteers who work so hard. And Rafi too, the boss whos definitely sometimes too hard on them ;)) Keep up the great work! And ill prob come and see you again!  Disliked: too small sinks in bathrooms!!  — Senka Stojanovic (2013-05-15) Hostelbookers
5 Liked: Everything as described and expected. Great place to be, nice and helpful staff, people from all over the world meeting on the terrace. Exactly what I was looking for.  Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.  — Customer review (2013-05-13) Hostelbookers
5 Liked: Wonderful staff - so friendly. I loved to coffee in the morning!  Disliked: Nicole left no negative feedback.  — Nicole Beasse (2013-05-03) Hostelbookers
5 Liked: Cheap, clean, great atmosphere, showers, awesome terrace lounge, kitchen and good wi-fi. Like a home.  Disliked: No lockers in the dorm room but I never felt like my stuff was unsafe; a bit of a drab location.  — Customer review (2013-05-02) Hostelbookers
5 Liked: Everything! Staff and atmosphere are amazing.  Disliked: Nothing.  — Customer review (2013-04-28) Hostelbookers
4 Liked: Very friendly workers. We were only there for one night, but we were treated very well.  Disliked: The location is kind of shady and at night it was hard to find.  — Customer review (2013-04-26) Hostelbookers
5 Liked: Great vibe, friendly staff, awesome hangout spot on the roof.  Disliked: Nothing  — Texel Feder (2013-04-18) Hostelbookers
4 Liked: The dorm rooms were very nice, especially the ones downstairs (which I think are new), and the rooftop terrace was great for hanging out. The staff were very friendly, very casual, and quite helpful in terms of recommending places to go - on our first night they organized a free trip to a local club for whoever wanted to go.The free breakfast was only bread and stuff to spread on it, but hey, it's free.  Disliked: There was a lot of street noise (very loud trucks, mostly) outside our window in the early morning. Generally, the location isn't ideal - it's in the southern part of Tel Aviv, so things in the center of town are a bit of a hike, and walking there from the nearest train station takes a while. However, Jaffa is fairly close, and Carmel Market and the nearest stretch of beach aren't too far.  — Customer review (2013-04-06) Hostelbookers
5 Liked: Everything. The people working at Florentine Hostel are off the scale in terms of their friendliness, warmth and desire to foster an environment in which travellers become friends, potentially friends for life.. It's clean, it's safe. The location is excellent because Tel Aviv is so manageable from a walking perspective, and I couldn't have possibly a better anywhere with the 6 days at Florentine. Natalie was a sensational host. The volunteers were all charming and well intentioned. Didn't want to leave. In fact can I please go back immediately? ;)  Disliked: There are no negatives to the experience I had at Florentine Hostel.  — William Cleverly (2013-03-31) Hostelbookers

5 Liked: florentine hostel is by far the coolest hostel ive ever stayed at throughout europe, the middle east or anywhere in the world. The rooftop lounge is awesome, you can chill out all day and night and look over the florentine neighborhood of tel aviv. There's a kitchen you can use whenever you need. The rooms are comfortable and the whole hostel is kept very clean. Its pretty centrally located, near to old jaffa, the beach and the center of the city. Florentine neighborhood is an up and coming area of tel aviv, cool bars, great food, graffiti and more. The staff in the hostel is great, Natalie ron and noam are all awesome, helpful and cool people. The volunteers are great, some will even take you out to party at night and on top of it all the owner Rafi is a really cool. All in all, amazing hostel, amazing location, amazing people, best hostel i have ever been to. 3   Firmly in the "ok" box There's absolutely nothing wrong with this place but it doesn't shine like a lot of the backpackers hostels that have sprung up around the world in resent years. The friendly staff, free wi-fi, and roof terrace are all plus factors but on basics like security, price, location, and cleanliness it is firmly average.  , UK ()
5   Tel Aviv? stay at the Florenine Hostel!! You won't regret it!! Best backpackers Hostel in Tel Aviv -- very friendly staff, you meet a lot of interesting people, and you can chill outside at the big rooftop. It is very well located and everything is clean. I'll come back soon.  , Germany ()
