OUR STORY
We, as three close friends, refuse to become grownups have decided to create a place for cultural conjunction in hip area of Istanbul, Galata (old Genoesean center of Istanbul). So we are waiting for people all around the world to create an environment that encompasses divergent cultures; a place where not any culture dominates over the others. The space is formed by the idea of diy (do-it-yourself); this attitude is reflected to bathrooms, common areas, to even the kitchen stuff and is a tribute to amateurism. The building is over 150 years old and has been recently refurbished. This beautiful building gives the chance not just to see Istanbul's history but also to sleep in it! Our beloved rooms are spacious, brick-walled, clean and they all have private bathrooms, lockers, vanity mirrors, headlights for every guest and curtains for bunk bed.

I stayed with a friend in a two-bed private room in this guest house for 4 nights. The charming room was spacious, clean, and cozy. The location is amazing, in a quiet area near Galata Tower, minutes away from all the busy shopping and great nightlife in nearby Istiklal. The hip staff are extemely caring and go out of their way to make sure the guests are safe and enjoying their stay. When my friend and I stayed out all night after finding a great party, the staff called us to see if we were okay! So cute! They were happy to recommend fun events and good venues. There's always amazing music playing in the lounge, and a great selection of international films to watch when you need a few hours to relax. The place makes you feel right at home immediately, which is so refreshing after having stayed at so many impersonal hostels around the world. Thanks to everyone at Rapunzel who made our stay amazing! :)

The staff is plain brilliant! Very kind and extremely helpfull. Breakfast is good. I enjoyed the location a lot, the area around Galata tower is very vibrant in the evenings, so you don't have to go far to find some liveliness if you come home after a long day.

The location is excellent! Its close to everything that needs to be seen and done in Beyoglu, and its close enough to the Galata Bridge to just walk across to all the sights in Sultanahmet and the Bazaar District. The people working here are great too - very helpful and nice. Room on the second floor was a bit loud (noise from the street) but with earplugs there was no problem. I would definitely recommend this property to any travellers coming through Istanbul who don't want to be in the middle of the tourist attractions and who want to be in a more artsy area.

rapunzel hostel is very clean with very nice staff. the terrace on the roof is a good place for a night beer:) the square at galata tower is favoured meeting point for young people - turkish and tourists.

we also stayed at Sultanahmed, but Beyoglu is far more attractive. And Rapunzel is the right place if you go to beyoglu, they are helpful, clean, silent, perfectly located, whatever you expect from a hostel, they fulfill.
