Run by a German team, El Punto is very trendy and always full -- book ahead! They have all the information you need for your stay, can arrange bike hire and tours, and offer a book exchange service and free internet and Wi-Fi.
The Location
This hostel is well located -- ten minutes' walk from the bus station, ten minutes' walk from the centre of town and the supermarket, and fifteen minutes to the beach. The quiet courtyard at the back of the hostel is great for relaxing in; and the noise from the street isn't too bad for the rooms located at the front.
Rooms and Bathrooms
A couple of four dorm bed rooms, and an assortment of singles, doubles, and twins make up Hostel El Punto. The dorms are bright and airy with windows onto the courtyard, and have plenty of hanger space and shelving. Each bunk has its own light. The rooms are cleaned daily and even the beds are remade! The bathrooms let it down however -- they are unisex but with urinals, which creates an unpleasant smell! The showers are good -- hot and high pressure.
Common Spaces
A good mix of people stay here -- there is private parking for cars and motorbikes, so you will meet some older couples as well the traditional backpackers. The dorms are good for meeting other solo travelers, and as breakfast is included in the price -- it's served in the pleasant back garden, so it is easy to get chatting. There is no kitchen, but a fridge and kettle are available for guest use.

This is a good backpackers -- all the modern conveniences you would expect, if you are used to European hostels. It even has a bar on-site!
