Description
Do you want to relax at one of Paratys biggest swimming pools, surrounded by jungle and a panoramic view of the mountains? Then the Blue Jungle Hostel is your place!
Choose our beautiful new hostel as your base to discover the historic center, go to the beach, kayaking, surfing, jungle hiking or simply stay in our garden and work on your tan! In the evening you can watch the amazing sunset whilst listening to the sound of the jungle and sipping on a Caipirinha.

Our brazilian Fazenda house is perfectly situated with the rainforest out the back and stunning views over the mountains to the front. Only a 5 min walk to the beautiful historic town center, the main bus station and the beach!
If you are not in the mood for an exciting trip around Paraty, enjoy relaxing in the wide tropical garden! The huge swimming pool is filled with fresh water from the mountains and offers a nice dip on a hot day. Sometimes we even have visitors in the garden like monkeys and lots of colourful birds…. Hopefully soon you will be amongst them ;)

We offer different room sizes from dorms to private rooms for up to four people. All of them have private bathrooms with hot showers.
In the morning enjoy our free breakfast buffet with everything you can wish for: fresh juice, coffee, fruits, homemade bread, cakes and a lot more…
We also have a fully equipped communal kitchen and if you don’t feel like cooking, our chef prepares a tasty and cheap dinner every night!

Whether you are planning on a big night out or just want to have a drink by the pool: start your night at our bar in the hostel with a free Caipirinha or a cold brazilian beer. Later on we take you on a real ‘Cachaça-Tour’ to the town center, where you can taste typical brazilian Cachaça in flavours you can’t imagine. We suggest the Caramel-Cachaça!!!

What makes Paraty a unique place is that rare combination of a historic town settled directly by the sea, surrounded by many beaches, islands, offering beautiful mountain scenery and the great Atlantic Rainforest. Our travel and information desk will help you to explore and unlock the secrets of Paraty. Whether you are interested in going diving or snorkelling in the Bay of Paraty, riding the perfect wave in Trindade, one of the best surf spots in Brazil or whether you just want to discover the depths of the rainforest on horseback… we’ll help you make the most of your time in Paraty!

4 Great pool, great staff. Rooms were small and dirty, as was the bathroom. Avoid if you don´t want to stay with a load of teenagers on their gap year.   — Anonymous (2010-02-13) Hostelbookers
5 this hostel was great. very relaxing. great pool. the rooms are a bit squished but have big enough lockers for your stuff. the staff there were amazing. very friendly and helfpul. they organised a fantastic boat tour for us that was cheap and one of my favourite days so far. the dinners at night were also really good. great experience.   — Anonymous (2010-02-10) Hostelbookers
4 The girls that run the hostel are fantastic and having a swiming pool was a big plus but it was quite dirty. We were at the hostel in the peak of summer and the rooms were incredinbly hot so are not realy suitable for the number of people they have in them (6 was too many). The showers flooded the bathroom and the dorm room so you had to be careful of what you had on the floor. The safes are a bit of a joke as if you lifted the matress up you could access the safes anyway. Also there seems to be some confusion with the staff over the deposit you pay on hostel bookers. They tried to charge us the full price of the dorm with out deducting the deposit payed on HB - watch out for this!   — Anonymous (2010-02-08) Hostelbookers
5 We loved the Blue Jungle Hostel. It is in a beautiful location, its close enough to shops, bars and restaurants but far enough from everything to feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere! The hostel has beautiful views of mountains and forests. The hostel itself is great, we met so many nice people and the atmosphere there is relaxed and chilled out. You can relax in the common area (which has real character) or outside under the canopy drinking beers or caiprinias!! There is always really mellow music being played in the reception that you can´t help but feel really relaxed! The hostel also has meals on offer on different nights for a small fee e.g. takeaway pizza, lasagne and bbq´s. They also organise different trips around the area, the Jeep tour to local waterfalls are a must!!! We loved this place so much that we extended our stay, we would definitley reccommend it!!   — Dervla Masterson (2010-02-05) Hostelbookers

5 I originally came to Blue Jungle for two days and ended up staying nearly two weeks, and am missing it now that I am not there! I can´t put my finger on the reason for it, but I just felt very at home there... Phelia and Kiki (the owners) are lovely and will be happy to help you with whatever you need. Enjoy!   — Dana Ioushua (2010-01-25) Hostelbookers
5 the calmness and the friendliness   — audrey silva (2010-01-22) Hostelbookers
5 We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hostel also had a massive pool, which was great. It was only a short walk into the town, and it was nice to stay just outside the center anyway. We would definitely go back!   — Danielle Mallen (2010-01-18) Hostelbookers
