1  I have stayed in many places, Gemini backpackers, you are the worst! Let me see what's wrong with it? No heating, filthy rooms, no electricity, insects and mice in the rooms, highly unhelpful staff and no hot water in the peak of winter. All I can say is, if Nelson Mandela had been held at Gemini Backpackers, his will would have been broken!!!! Having been to many places around the world, this is the worst, the best part about it is leaving it!!!!  , Australia ()
1  Worst place Ive been Everyone I met stayed there cant stand it! After a few days we all start looking another place to stay! All the details they said at the website its all fake advertising, trust me people this is a place you dont want to stay. There is no electricity in the morning everyday too people. The staff act friendly because they are trying to sell their food, booze, and service everything will cost you there.  , USA ()
4  Good for price and very accommodating! Yes, this hostel is a little rundown, but it has one of the best prices in Jozi and offers further discounts to students, VIP (as well as free internet, pick-up or drop-off, massive DVD library). Most people consider Jozi dangerous, but the hostel is inside a secure fence and they offer free transportation to and from nearby shopping complexes three times a day, which both have supermarkets, as well as a cinema, pharmacies, banks, cafes, shops. They also offer to transfer at other times for a small cost and a city tour operator runs from this hostel, so it is easy to see the sights. They are very accommodating, and the atmosphere is very friendly and social.  , British ()
1  Very Poor This hostel is one of the worst i've ever stayed in. It was old and dirty. The surrounding area was dangerous and there wasn't even a shop to buy any food. Do not stay here! You have to be very careful where you stay in Johannesburg and this is not somewhere you want to be.  , England ()
5  Simply lovely. Free Internet. I spent a night at the clubs, arriving at Gemini around 4:30 a.m., which was no problem, and then ate breakfast on the patio the following late morning and spent the afternoon watching movies in their TV area. It was a perfect, relaxing time.  ()
