The Hostelz.com Review
UYTA Live Lviv Hostel is a small, clean hostel in the center of Lviv. This modern hostel, with its nice, homey atmosphere, is pleasant to stay in. With Lviv center being so small, you can walk to everything from here. The hostel prides itself on cleanliness and its breakfast offered at a local restaurant two minutes' walk from the hostel.
The Location
The hostel is located in the center, near two of the cheapest places to eat in the city. Getting here from the train or bus station is very easy and the big sign outside is hard to miss once you get to this street. Everything is within walking distance from Live Lviv Hostel, and there are four clubs in ten minutes' walk as well. Overall this is one of the best locations you can get in the city.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There are three dorms and a private area in this hostel. The dorms are not cramped -- they have enough space to move around easily and, like rest of the hostel, they are very clean. The sheets are given to you pressed and ironed and they smell freshly washed. The beds are very thick and they even have bars to stop you from falling out off top bunk. The hostel keeps the noise down after midnight by asking anyone that wishes to stay up later to go out, giving everyone else time to sleep. With so many places to go in the area for drinks and dancing, those that want to can find places to party with ease.
The bathroom has a toilet and shower and is also very clean. We never had any problems with hot water in morning or in the evening so we can say it has twenty-four-hour hot water.
Common Spaces
The common area is a couch in the check-in area with a PC to use for the internet and a large bookshelf for book exchange. This is not really a common area, as it is small, but when asked about this, the owner said Lviv is your common area, go out and see the city -- why sit inside here! With such a small hostel it is easy to meet people to go out with, so really they don’t need such a large common area anyway. The kitchen has a stove, fridge, and kettle but is small. With so many cheap places to eat, it’s cheaper to eat out than to go buy food and cook it in the hostel!
Summary
Overall we like the feel of UYTA Live Lviv Hostel. The staff are helpful and will find out info online about travel and even call other hostels to book your next city stay. The hostel also has a number of tours and activities that other hostels seem to lack. They offer sniper gun shooting, skydiving in a military plane, a culture tour to two locations, a medieval all-you-can-eat-and-drink feast on Saturdays, wet and wild day at a water park, private sauna, and Lviv pub crawl. This alone makes them stand out here here. We think the level of cleanliness is unseen in Ukraine so far and the time and effort they put into that should be rewarded.

Small, modern, clean. Lviv Live Hostel is a small modern hostel next the Kosmonaut, they seem to specialize in tours offering over 8 different tours, where most other hostels in the city only offer 1 or 2. They pride themselves on their clean hostel and free breakfast that is offered in a local restaurant nearby (which was the best i ever had in any hostel i stayed in!). — Anonymous (2010-06-23)
