The Hostelz.com Review
Cambria Hostel/Bridge Street Inn is located halfway from Los Angeles to San Fransisco and one mile from the Pasific Ocean in the historic East Village of Cambria. It is a great midpoint to stop while taking one's time on Highway One to see California. It is located close to lots of shops and resturants.

It is more like a bed and breakfast in European cities than a hostel in a small town. The owner runs the place and the result is a very cozy, warm, and reasonably priced hostel. The house is a beautiful colonial style decorated artistically and the colors chosen are magnificent.

The rooms are quiet and the female dorm has only four beds. The beds don't make any noise while sleeping on them. The kitchen is neat and nice and the dining room was charming. The place was clean and there are fruits and breads to share.

Seeing many hostels in the United States and Europe, this hostel is easily near the top. After spending a day there it's not easy to leave such a charming place.

To get there from Highway One exit at Windsor Drive Left. Right on Main Street -- continue for about one mile and make a left on Bridge Street. After about one hundred yards up the hill, next to a church on the right side you will ind 4314 Bridge Street.

The best of the west coast.
This is one of the best hostels on the west coast. Nice cozy, homey, bed and breakfast type of hostel. If you planning on touring Hearst Castle this is the place to stay.

I stayed here in March of 2005. I've probably stayed in twelve to fifteen hostels in the U.S. and this hostel is one of the best I've stayed in. It's a very quaint, Martha Stewart atmosphere, but in a good way. The owners are friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I'll stay here again.

Cozy, welcoming, open, wonderful. these are just some of the words I'd use to describe this place. The hosts were great and conversation with everyone visiting that evening was terrific. Thanks for such a great place to stay! This was a wonderful experience.

This was an extremely comfortable and cozy place to begin our trip up the California coast. The rooms were clean and well decorated. The staff and guests were very friendly with some enjoyable guitar playing. Cambria is a fun town. The inn is a short walk from the main street so it's pretty quiet. I had several good nights' sleep there.

This is a real gemstone and I definitely recommend it to the adventurous souls — it's good enough for the frou-frou crowd, too!

This hostel is in a great location for those who want to take the time to explore Big Sur. The hostel is decorated as a European-style guesthouse in the country. I got a kick out of the toilet fixtures. The only reason I don't give it a five star rating is that guests cannot get back into the inn between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and I forgot to carry extra clothing during a rainy day.

What a wonderful hostel!!! STEVE was nice, nice, nice. The entire house was cutely decorated and the kitchen fully equipped. It was truly a home away from home! Thanks for all the recycling effort. I also love the idea of hanging up your sheets to dry them. I do that myself and wish more people would do the same!!!
