Not very good The rate is now $25 US and the place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a month or more. Dorm arrangement is bunks around a large room on the second floor which can a bit noisy and disrupt sleep. The manager on duty didn't seem to know much about the Homer area and was a little unsure of his duties. Think this may contribute to the general bad house keeping. Odd piles of left over guest items in corners and such. Have stayed at many hostels in Alaska this year and this unfortunately is not one of the best. Hope it improves in the future. — Alaskan Hiker , Swiss (2008-08-11) Great place to crash after exploring Homer. Will was very welcoming and the whole place was nice, including the guests. It's centrally located in town and you can find out just about anything about Homer and vicinity. I would recommend calling ahead to get a reservation just to be sure! — Barry (2004-08-20) This was more properly a shared house than a hostel. It could have been cleaner, but the atmosphere can't be beat. Will was a nice and caring host, and, along with the other guests (many of them were staying longer than planned), we chatted, cooked, and went to the pub together. However, I must say: the kitchen and common areas were clean enough, but the bathrooms could have used a scrub. — Heike (2004-08-06) This was a hostel at it's best. It was clean, although I heard it was not as clean a few days before my arrival. The host was warm and welcoming. It was close to many sights of intrest.
