The first boutique property in Brazil. Opened in July 2009.

All the races of mankind, the rhythms, the Saints, Orixás, the 365 churches, and more than 1000 terreiros, have come together above the blue tones of the sea and the brilliant sunset.
Ladeira da Barra (Barra’s Hill), one of the most beautiful and charming places in Salvador, Bahia, is the home of a new concept of accommodation, receiving travellers from all over the world in a totally different and exclusive way.
A place where the mixture, the beliefs, and differences are respected and learned.
The breakfast service included in the rate and it is served from 07:30 till 10:00 hrs.

In our kitchen the guests have their own kitchen with refrigerator, kitchen, microwave and utensils.
We have computers with Internet for the guests, also 24-hours Wireless and Wi-Fi connection.
The Santeria Property Bar Security is in one of the safest districts of Salvador, also has daily security.

The boutique offer artesanatos (Hand make) and hygienic products
The bar is open to clients, generally from 17:30 until 23:30 hrs. (The entrance is controlled with identification bracelets).
With a long variety of drinks, being caipirinhas of tropical fruits the specialty of the house and special food make a chef Murilo.
Our thematic celebrations are waited with expectation by the guests.

This hostel is hard to rate. The first few days was a total wash-out. No-one was available to explain anything, we were miss-sold stuff from the bar and the food from the 'restaurant/bar' was dreadful.The permanently "unavailable to comment" owner didn't help things.After a couple of days some really friendly and helpful English-speaking staff turned up and changed the whole experience. Sergio in particular was excellent.The location is pretty mediocre. There is absolutely nothing directly beside or in the near vicinity of the hostel so be prepared to take taxis. Also be aware that the bar that they rave so much about is actually a bar that is open to the public and may be shut for a private function on the day you want to use it.
