Heyuan International Youth Hostel Reviews on Other Websites
5 I really liked this hostel - the rooms were small but clean and looked very nice, the staff spoke good English, and it has a great feel. There is a lovely little bar/cafe and a nice courtyard area too, and everyone was very helpful. It is also only a few minutes walk from the metro, so you can travel around Beijing really easily from there - I would definitely stay here again.   — Zoe Wilkinson (2011-11-18) Hostelbookers

4 The value was incredible--the accommodations were really nice for the price of the room. Also, I really appreciated the bar, which serves coffee in the morning.   — Alice Hadley (2011-05-19) Hostelbookers
5 I did not espect such a clean and very nice and friendly hostel and I was very positively surpised. We had a room for two persons, which had more and small hotel standard than a hostel standard. I was in many hostels before and this was one of the better ones. Whenever I´m again in Bejing I will go back there again. It is laying in a more chinese area with also more chinese travellers, so maybe meeting people is less than in other hostels. But we met some nice people. Breakfast was not provided (like in many other hostels, but you can have a nice coffee (important for me:) in the morning. We travelled some days in CHina and left our bigger baggage in the hostel and spended also the last days of our trip there because we liked it very much. It is laying not far from subway line 2, which is an excellent point to explore the City and you can walk to Ho Hai. There is also a big Supermarket near the subway station in the shopping center.   — Customer review (2011-04-09) Hostelbookers

3 We stayed in a private double room which was much nicer than we expected, more like a cheap hotel room. Bathroom could have been cleaner though.   — Customer review (2011-02-15) Hostelbookers

4  Good hostel, would be better if landlord didn't implement changes This is definitely one of the better hostels in Beijing. Located in a Hutong, 10 minutes from the nearest subway, it has traditional decor and a large courtyard with a nice garden and benches around. The rooms and dorms are located around the courtyard. There's a nice bar and a very large common room and wifi is available in all parts the hostel. The atmosphere is more Chinese than western than other hostels in Beijing as majority of the residents tend to be Chinese. I came to the hostel intending to only stay three weeks, but ended up staying 3 months. Mainly because it is a lively place and I was making so many friends here. However, the down side is, during my time here, I've seen many changes in the hostels that have been for the worse. For example, the removal of the sofas and replacing them with hard chairs, the removal of the common fridge, the removal of kettles so now you have buy hot drinks from the bar. No kitchen or heating facilities available. Already these changes are making the hostel lose its appeal.  , UK ()
