Description
Bright Property is more than a hostel; it is a nice place for a rest. It was designed to have a homey, family-like feel where travelers can relax and feel safe and comfortable. We are on a quiet street on the edge of downtown Cuzco.
Bright Properties is named after the sunlight which fills the main room and interior garden. Sometimes humming birds even come by to feed off the flowering trees. The adjacent patio is a favorite spot for our guests to relax and have breakfast, chat and exchange stories and travel plans with other guests.
The garden also provides a place to smoke, enclosed with glass to keep the property fresh and pleasant for our non-smoking guests. We are located right next to a little public park with trees and flowers.
Bright Properties now enjoys its own restaurant with local dishes and special wood-oven pizzas. We provide complimentary teas and coffee at all hours of the day and night, including the locally grown coca leaf tea, recommended to help acclimatize to the 10,000ft altitude of Cuzco, or perhaps a chamomile tea for before going to bed.
Freshly squeezed orange juice is always a favorite part of our complimentary breakfasts. We make an extra effort to provide locally grown, in-season, fruits and locally baked bread. The fully equipped kitchen, with a gas stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator allow guests to do any in-house cooking they'd like. Interested groups can arrange cooking classes to learn the secrets behind the amazing local dishes.
Beds have excellent mattresses and cozy down duvets for the chilly Cuzco nights. Our shared rooms come with private, locked cupboards to help organize store valuables for extra comfort and security.
Extra bags can always be left, free of charge, in our secure storage closet while on multi-day trips. Phone calls to fixed, local telephones are free of charge.

I liked meeting with others in the very small common area outside of the kitchen.

I will say that if you want a clean hostel where you can just come in, sleep and then go out for the full day, this is an ok place. If you would like some local knowledge, a friendly smile at breakfast or any of the other touches hostels are known for, keep searching. I made 2 bookings with this hostel for this trip separately online, I probably will venture to another should I be in the district again.

The staff were really friendly, helping us book tours and seeing us to the right meeting points. Its about a 10min walk to the Plaza de Armas but its a really nice walk which can take you through the cool streets of San Blas. The block where the hostel is is quite quiet. WIFI was good too.

A good clean place to stay, slightly out of the main centre, but not too far. Comfortable & clean rooms. We booked a double with a private bathroom, however were given one with a shared bathroom. Hot water is good at night but non-existent in mornings. Staff very friendly, good comunal hangout areas.

We had a TV in the room and there is free internet. But the breakfast was very basic, and the bus station transfer that the hostel offered and I requested didn´t turn up, we got charged the wrong amount, and there was a mix up about dates we were staying. Location is okay, and the staff were helpful, you might want to stay somewhere a bit more central though.
