Hostelz.com's Review
Hosteller Bled is housed in a white, two-story house made into a hostel, without much character but very clean and comfortable. As soon as you arrive, the owner, a very friendly guy, will give you details on the attractions of the city, as well as cheap places to eat or buy groceries. However, he doesn’t stay at the reception at all times, you must either tell him exactly what time you are coming or give him a call when you arrive -- the number should be at the front door.

The Location

It is about one kilometer away from the main bus station. It’s not difficult to find, but it's advisable to stop by the tourist office right in front of the bus station, and ask them to point out in the map which way to go. The distance is considerable if you are carrying heavy bags and there is a small hill on the way. It is a quiet residential neighborhood but still quite close to amenities and the bus station. There is no train station nearby. The main attraction in Bled, the lake, is slightly further away, but everything is within walking distance.

Rooms and Bathrooms

They have two mixed dorms for six people and one for three people -- they are very bright and spacious, with individual well-sized lockers. You get a key to your locker and to the front door as you check-in. There is one bathroom upstairs, and a separate shower and toilet downstairs. Everything is kept impeccably clean.

Common Spaces

This is not the kind of social hostel where you are likely to meet other backpackers, except in your own dorm. There are no common areas, apart from the large garden outside. There is no kitchen for guests, or a living room. There is one internet-available computer in the corridor for guests.

Summary

This is not the best place to stay if you are looking for a party-style hostel with lots of character, but it's very clean and decent, and offers a good value for money. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The lack of a kitchen for guests is the main downside.

5   Excellent By far one of the best hostels I stayed in during my time traveling around Europe. The owner was so helpful dropping us to the bus stop when it was pouring with rain and really helping us out on one night where we hadn't booked. Thank you so much for making our stay in Bled an awesome one.  , Welsh ()
