The Hostelz.com Review
Backpackers Bargain Rock is good, as it provides free internet, pool table, and coffee. Staying here is fun. But we also need to mention that there are no air-condition in the dorm room of this hostel. Therefore, it's also quite hot in summer. Also, Everett is not close to downtown Boston so you'll need to use public transport to get to the city.
The Location
It's not difficult to find the hostel. Take the orange line (subway) to Sullivan Square and take #104/109 bus; or to Wellington and walk about a mile to School Street. The hostel is the first building on School Street so you can't miss it. But Everett is to the north of downtown Boston. Each time you want to visit the city, you need to take the orange line again. And you need to return to the hostel before midnight, because no subway is available after that. There are some food markets on Broadway which is next to School Street. So, life is easy in the hostel.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There is no air conditioning in the room and it is quite hot in the hostel. The rooms are clean and well furnished. It's big and bright, so it will be quite comfortable regardless of the heat. However, if your room is facing the road outside, it may be a little bit noisy. In the bathrooms, you may need to wait for up to five minutes for hot water when you take the shower.
Common Spaces
The internet and pool table are free! These are good news to backpackers. And the common room is big enough, but the kitchen is too small as it can only contain two people at most. Furthermore, they do not have pans here and just provide litter facilities -- this needs to be improved. Also, there is no laundry in the hostel -- you need to walk down School Street for this.
Summary
You can have fun in the Backpackers Bargain Rock, surfing on internet or playing the games with your friends here. And you can make friends with others too. The staff are kind and willing to help all the guests. But without air conditioning, you need to bear the heat, especially in summer.

Definitely recommended I had a really nice stay here. I was there for three nights. Rooms are standard dorms, pretty comfy and clean. Quite a big place, lots of showers and restrooms and a large communal area with computers, tv, pool table and bar. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a shuttle to the train station at 9am and 10am driven by a really nice guy. Very reasonable price so if I was back in Boston I'd definitely go back. — Isabella , London, UK (2011-05-21)
