The Hostelz.com Review
It's a small place, brightly decorated with colored carpets everywhere. There is no kitchen, lockers, or common area. The rooms have bunkbeds and the general cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms is average. Unfortunately, despite the name, the the staff are so unfriendly that we can't recommend staying at this hostel.

If you sleep like a log even though the world is falling apart around you then you can stay at Sunshine 2. Otherwise, the loudness of the vehicles rumbling and blaring their horns through the night is merciless. And during summer, the open-air cinema is on and while you are sleeping, you can hear almost every Italian word spoken by the cast. And Danny is not friendly at all. I got reprimanded by him for getting water on the floor of the bathroom! And breakfast is so late!! — Unsatisfied (2005-09-09)

The hostel is quite clean, but there are no kitchen facilities and the male owner is very unfriendly. The breakfast is served at 8:30 a.m., whereas most backpackers would prefer to start their day at 8 a.m. Not only that, there is no 24 hour reception because the owner tends to go out for *hours* during the day. There are only 2 toilets for 15 people and it tends to get really dirty by the time everyone is done. — Anonymous (2005-03-29)
There is NO 24-hour reception. You have to be back before 1 a.m. Otherwise, you will have to sleep at the Termini train station or somewhere else. — Anonymous (2004-09-21)
Do not stay with Sunshine! I actually booked through Sunshine 1, but they put us in their 3rd hostel Florinda B & B. When we arrived at Sunshine 1 we had to organise to meet her at Florinda later that afternoon and wait out the front for her as there is no reception. There was only one bathroom which contained both the shower and toilet to be shared between at least 4 rooms. There was a total of five people that we know of sharing the bathroom while we were there. The hot water system only had the capacity to provide 2 very short showers and took hours to reheat more water. We only managed to have a hot shower once during our stay when we got up at 6am and beat everyone else to the bathroom. The toilet was blocked our entire stay and before we left it started to fill the entire building with a repulsive stench. Both these problems were reported to the lady who delivers the breakfast in the moring but nothing was done about either. Do yourself a favour - do not stay at Sunshine 1, Sunshine 2 or Florinda B & B. — Very pissed off Tourist (2003-11-23)
