The best welcome to Cusco We got off the night bus at 530am and got a taxi to El Tuco. Coco was there waiting for us. No one was in our room so he let us sleep in it prior to check in without charging us extra. We felt really safe in El Tuco. Coco was on hand to help with anything we needed and even got up early to see us off on the Inca trail. We stayed here for five nights and really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend. — Katie, age 32, UK (2013-03-24)

Great price, great location Great price and great location. You cand find a supermarket close to the hostal. The owner is very kind and helpful. The breakfast is big and endless. The rooms have a nice size, are clean but cold. The water is really hot ... I have to say extra-hot. — Traveler, European (2012-10-15)

Clean and comfortable The rooms were clean and comfortable. The showers were hot, especially nice after the Inca Trail! Staff were friendly and gave helpful and honest answers to our questions. Although it's a 10-15 minute walk from the plaza, I felt safe walking on the main roads. Plus, it's nice to get away from the very touristy plaza area. Highly recommended! — J, Canada (2012-09-13)

Fantastic and friendly place to stay My wife and I have stayed here on two occasions, for two nights when we first arrived in Cuzco and five nights after we returned from Machu Picchu. We can't say enough good things about this place. Coco, the owner, is a wonderful host and speaks very good English, as do all of his staff. There is a shared kitchen available to cook in, free wifi, a desktop computer with free internet access, and Cable-TV in the community lounge. The rooms themselves are clean and spacious. Cuzco itself is a little cold in the evenings but there are plenty of warm blankets. The staff are very helpful and gave us advice on everything from places to eat to booking onward buses. You can book an independent tour through the hotel if you wish but you are under no pressure to do so if you want to shop around. The Hostel itself is about 5mins walk from central Cuzco and is very safe and secure and you can leave your large backpacks whilst trekking. Also, twice a week the bar is open, which includes Coco's complimentary Pisco Sours, which are delicious! — Philip, UK (2012-09-02)

Very clean and accommodating located a short walk from plaza de armas this hostel provided excellent rooms, warm showers, lovely company, great breakfast, a welcoming atmosphere, secure facilities for leaving baggage, and helped us coordinate trips in and around cusco as well as travel to other destinations in Peru. We have stayed at many hostels and this one stands out among the best and we highly recommend it. — Jason and Jia , USA and Canada (2010-06-16)

Clean, Spacious, Extreme friendly and helpful Coco is an extremely helpful and friendly host. It really feels like home. The rooms are big, clean and have nice bathrooms (formerly a hotel!). The beds are very comfy (best beds we slept in in Peru) and the house is beautiful. He also has a nice bar where he occasionally serves very tasty Pisco Sour! Stayed here for 4 days, all were really good. One of the few hostels where you can actually prepare your own dinner if you like. — Niels & Marije, Netherlands (2010-04-29)

Excellent This nice Hostel is managed by Anna-Maria and her husband Coco. They give this place am familiar atmosphere and with their kindness and helpfulness they let you feel like at home. The rooms are clean, the beds perfect. You are ten minutes away from Plaza de Armas. — Georg KANY, Germany (2010-01-07)
