In December 2005 I was here during my bike holiday to celebrate Christmas. It was really fantastic. Besides all people were so relaxed, friendly, and open, the lord organized a really good Christmas meal. In this hostel, you are not an individual but part of the group. Nevertheless, even if you do not like to participate in any conversation, it is fine too. It is a good place to rest for a while, to enjoy the Coromandel Ranges, to make nice cycle tours of walkings. I can really recommend this place.

My friend and I stayed here for over two weeks and on the whole everyone was so lovely and generous! We did a bit of work around the house to pay for our tent site because we were short on money. It really seemed to be our home for a while. Lovely people!!!
