this was the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. it really sucked, you can barely refer to it as a hostel. it is tiny, dark, very noisy (some guy spent half his night barfing on the toilet, for three nights in a row! you can really hear everything!), there was a constant bad smell, only cold showers, disgustingly dirty room, such terrible beds we had to sleep on the floor, weird staff (acting really weird about returning our key deposit), and a very weird neighbourhood. the pictures on the site are either really well taken or photoshopped. it's a good thing rome itself is fantastic.

well this hostel is actually a guy's three-room apartment, not very clean. There are ten beds in each room, not like in the pictures here. there's no breakfast included, just some crackers and marmalade. the TV doesn't have cable, the street is really dangerous, lots of weird people hanging out there, especially at night, there's no hair dryer, and it's very noisy. the only advantage is that it's near to the train station.
oh, and one night the manager came and beat up the girl who works in the hostel. i heard everything and was very afraid and wanted to leave as soon as possible. so, don't go there, ever.

It's a very dirty hostel, we think that the rooms have never been cleaned up, there was a lot of dust on the floor. There weren't linens enough and the bathroom was very dirty. There was a disgusting smell everywhere. The girl of the staff wanted to steal the money we gave to the hostel when we booked and we paid more than we expected because the girl told us that it was high season and the price was 18 € per night, instead of 15 €. And also the area of the hostel is quite dangerous, especially during the night. If we will come to Rome again, we won't come to this hostel again! The only positive feature is the location, near the railway station.

It's a good value for Rome! The location is good too, right next to Termini, although it is a bit noise as the windows are facing busy road. It's small -- well, it's an apartment -- but if you are lucky enough to share the room with like minded people, it doesn't really matter, right? There is kitchen, but it's so tiny that you can hardly move in there, and there is no place there to sit and eat unless you do it in your room (and the room has one table for seven beds). Also, the website advertised free breakfast, but there were no breakfast actually (unless you want to help yourself to old toastbread). I did not find the staff all that welcoming, either, but maybe that was just my feeling. Bottom line, this is a good and cheap place if you need a place to spend a night in close to Termini and don't have any great expectations.

Be careful!!!
You should know and make sure first where you will be placed!!!
Aladino Hostel 2 or Dino Aladino?
I know that it is very confusing for you...but it is better so, unless you will be trapped.
In addition, the photos on the website are not accurate. You may be put in the location on Napoleon III instead of Via Giovanni Giolitti ("Aladino Hostel 2").

This is the WORST hostel I've ever got.
The staff was rude, unfriendly and uncoordinated. I booked for 6 peoples in advance but when we came there, we only got 5 beds!! He easily said that the hostel is overbooked and we have to share 1 foldaway bed for 2 persons and only got 8euro discount. The bed was so small even for us (Asian females). He said "You have to take it because you don't have any choices". That was our first time in Rome, and we didn't want to argue a lot or thought to leave since we've paid deposit 10% for 2 days.
But it was going more worst and worst…As it already said on the website that there was breakfast included on the price. Truly say: the food on the refrigerator was free to be consumed, but they were only some opened jams. In fact, we didn't get anything, even for the mineral water. We only got TAP water for free!! :(
Then, the hostel had only 2 (bathrooms together with WC) for app. 20 persons. 1 WC was completely out of order. And the other bathroom was only a small dirty box and squashy so that we had to carefully move.
However, the price was "quite reasonable" for what we got. It was the unfriendly manner of him which have iritated us more.

I loved it there. Everyone was nice and cool to hang with. If you want some laid back place then this is where to go. It's fun, and you can make dinner, or get it made for you for only 5 euros, and it's all you can eat pasta. It's good. I recommend this hostel if you just want to have a good time.

I would say this place was very dirty. I am sure the owner never changes the linens and water for the showers were cold. I had to stay with a group of people who were very loud and very passed out. So I guess the only thing good about it was the price; but remember you get what you pay for.

I stayed at Aladino Hostel at Via Napoleon III and the hostel was excellent! It was clean and people there were friendly to us, even when we locked ourselves outside more than a couple of times. ;) Thank you so much, I had a great time!

This hostel does, in fact, suck. The place is extremely unprofessional. I didn't feel safe. The kitchen is tiny. The staff are rude. The TV in the common room, which is as big as a closet, was constantly blaring and the Internet is certainly not free.

I am giving this hostel two stars only because I met awesome people here. This hostel was in a sketchy place, so if you plan on arriving, do it during daylight. Shower shoes are a must! This place is really hard to find as well, especially at night. It is not close to major attractions. Good Points: silence is enforced, and it is really close to the train station.

This is the maximum ranking I will give this hostel (one star). If I could, I'd give it a lower ranking, because it's a very poor place. The photos on the website are not accurate. You may be put in the location on Napoleon III instead of Via Giovanni Giolitti ("Aladino Hostel 2"). There is no security in this place. It's incredible, the lies you can see in the photos and on the page where we saw a recommendation. This is a very poor place, a complete disaster!!!

This place stinks!!! We paid for a double en suite and got a dorm room with four single beds. There is no sign posted to show you where to go, and the place is in a shocking part of town! It takes a lot of guesswork to even find the dump. Everyone was paying different rates and safety was low! Do not even think of coming here! Free breakfast? It's one roll and no tea.

I give this hostel 1 star as it's the lowest rate I can select, I think I'll never look for the cheapest place to stay since the owners are TRUELY LIERS, starting from the conditions:
- No TV in every room (I verified they had TV at common area, kitchen and a really-really-small 4-bed room).
- No freedom about timetables and arrival: we arrived at night and paid all that day but our room was occupied by some other people.
- No spacious bedrooms: our 6-bed room had 3 double-bed and NO MORE!!! Oh, sorry, it has door, light (dangerous electrical installation), window and a coaxial TV cable that ended in the bed I sleeped.
AND the worst thing: photographs ARE NOT from the place we had to sleep -> they brought us from Via Giovanni Giolitti to Via Napoleon III. So the good-looking hostel shown at the web page was replaced by an awful-full-of-dust-building. The people who came to Dino hostel (may say Pseudo-hostel or also Pseudo-Dino-pseudo-hostel) are preparing a web page copied from the original one with images of the real one at www.dinohostel.tk, won't be up till 15th November 2k4.
SO, DON'T PAY FOR SLEEPING BETWEEN PIGS!!!

I had a fabulous stay in Rome. The hostel--well, it's clean and comfortable. It's in a great location, handy for the train station, etc.
