Ok
So, this place is cheap -- really cheap. That's pretty much all it has going for it. My friend and I shared a room with four other people, the room had a decent amount of space, there were only three toilets for the floor, and each day at least one or two of the toilets were pretty nasty, so they could clean them more often, the showers were alright, just wear flip flops, oh and the bathrooms and shower areas are unisex, so be prepared for that. we managed to embarrass some guys who didn't think anyone else was in the shower/sink room. There is no common room, so it's not good for meeting people. People seem to keep more to themselves because of that. They will keep your valuables in a safe at the front desk if you ask them to, and they also will give you a map of Rome. The location is good, it's a five- to ten-minute walk to Termini, the main train station, and the central hub for getting anywhere you want to go in Rome. The neighborhood is also fine, it's all geared towards tourists -- hostels, hotels, rip-off restaurants, and if you're not careful, you can find plenty of people trying to swindle you at and around Termini. If you can find a better place, go there, this is merely adequate.

I stayed here in August of 2004 and was disgusted by the conditions of this hostel. Both of the bathrooms on the floor were broken, with a shower that did not work in one of them and both with broken toilet seats and no toilet paper. The staff were slow to respond to these major problems and I would not stay here again.

When you go to make the reservation online the price jumps up to a higher price. This is bad and cheating.

I stayed here in mid-November 2004 and found it a pleasant experience. The private room my friend and I booked was very sparse and basic, i.e. only two beds and a wastepaper basket, but it was very clean and serviced every two days. The window in the common bathroom was cracked badly (reminded my friend of the Norman Bates motel) and the shower curtain was a bit stained, but other than that it was sparkling clean. Also, the night manager Javed was extremely friendly and helpful. It's also located close to the Station Termini — very convenient. We paid 16 euro per person — quite reasonable for a private two-bed room in a hostel in Europe. I would recommend this place if you're just looking for a place to sleep and leave your luggage while you're exploring Rome.

This place is, quite frankly, an embarrassment to hostelling and should not be considered a credible place to stay. Our double room in the hostel was more like a prison cell (no kidding — bars on the windows!) than a hostel room. There was no furniture other than cheap and uncomfortable beds and one chair. No mirror, no curtains, a leaky window and wires — possibly live — protruding from the walls. NO HEAT at all made for some cold winter nights. No common room, no TV, no kitchen, one key per room, and most disturbing, there was only one toilet for the whole floor (20 beds for one toilet/shower). The friendly staff was aware of the slum-like conditions and merely stated — "hey, it's a hostel." I can't speak for the hotel section, but if it's anything like the hostel, go elsewhere or sleep on the street.

We booked a room through another website, and as we booked the price jumped and we paid far too much for the room. We tried to e-mail this hostel about the price but the friendly staff did not bother to e-mail back and we were stuck with an expensive room. The room was marginal at best with a door that did not properly open. The real horror was the bathroom, which was of a third world standard with little or no hot water even in the early evening. Spend your money on another hotel or hostel. You won't regret it.

This is a hotel that offers some shared dorm rooms, located 4 blocks from the train station. There isn't a common area. The bathroom is very clean but there is only one shower and toilet for the floor (with 5 rooms). Credit cards are only accepted if you're staying for several nights.

For the price it didn't offer much. I was charged 22 euros and there was no breakfast, no lockers, and no common room. There was only one key per room, which isn't very handy when you are sharing with five people you don't know! Security is not very good, and there is only one bathroom and one toilet between about 30 people.

Rude staff and no security. There were people working from 8 a.m. every morning, and still the place just seemed a disaster.

More of a hotel than a hostel. I stayed here in Aug 1999. Best place I stayed at in all of Eurpoe!
