Description

The centre is purpose built and opened in 2002. Located in the hearrt of the mourne mountains in county down and in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have 3x2bds,4x4bds and 1x8bds all rooms are ensuite and decorated to highest standards. We have two small self catering kitchens,a restaurant, a laundry and an enclosed yard for bicycle etc. We also have a drying room,lounge with Tv and a small conference for apprixiamately 30-40 people. Our restaurant uses only fresh food and fresh local ingredients, catering for special diets and vegeterians. We postively encourage families to our centre. I stayed here for a week in September 2004. It was lovely. A kitchen is available to guests and there is a grocery store about 100 yards from the hostel. It is very modern and comfortable with a friendly manager.

This hostel has a very friendly staff and lovely facilities. It's a little out of the way, but the location is beautiful and it's only a short, cheap taxi ride from Kilkeel. The center was started by the community out of love, not for the money. The ladies were very helpful, and overall it's a pleasant place to stay.
