YHA St. David's Hostel is the perfect hostel for those looking for peace and quiet. It is a bit remote, which does not really pose a problem as there is a reasonable and frequent shuttle service (Celtic Coaster) from St. David's to White Sands bay that will drop of hostelers at the turn off. It is then about ten to fifteen minutes' walk to the hostel, depending on the length of your legs.
The hostel itself, a converted farmhouse and its outbuildings, is very tastefully decorated with the most beautiful kitchen we have ever seen in a hostel to date. The dorms are clean and comfortable, as are the shower rooms and WCs. Two family rooms and five doubles are also available.
The hostel is within easy walking distance of the gorgeous and lively blue flag beach of Whitesands Bay and the Hilltop of Carn Llidi (accessible via a path starting right behind the hostel) offers spectacular views across the bay. If you like a rural setting you'll love this hostel -- it currently has only one YHA star officially, but we would never call it a one star hostel -- it has far too much charm!
