Great, but there are bedbugs
wonderful amenities and nice looking rooms, but there are bedbugs everywhere! difficult to see because they sheets are clean, but they still come out at night. changed rooms a few times. otherwise, an amazing hostel!

There is no better, cleaner, and hospitable hostal in Mexico.
I have been coming to Zacatecas for five years now and can honestly say that Ernesto and his staff are real pros at making their guests feel right at home. Their positive attitude and friendliness ensures that everyone gets to visit the many attraction that this beautiful colonial city has to offer everyone. Ernesto's background and knowledge of running a hostal are supremely superb. I wish there were more stars to be awarded to places of this caliber.

One of the best
I have traveled the world, mostly South america and I can say this place is one of the best, no doubt! Not only the building is great and they keep it in great shape, not only the services and the computers, the location, but the staff, what a great service! It's a hostel, but the service is five stars. The rooftop terrace has a great view, especially at night. You deserve all this and more, guys!

Champagne on a beer budget. simply exquisite.
Where to begin. the price is ludicrously cheap for what the poor traveler will receive. ernesto's beaming hospitality and goodwill is a rare find in the hostel industry. for the weary and exhausted, his promises of fiestas, tequila, and travel advice is so heartwarming. but the facilities here are incredible. everything is homey, clean, safe, warm, and more than adequate. the rooms are not big, but they're sufficient and decked out so that it feels like your own bedroom. the location is co close to everything, and be sure not to miss the view from the rooftop terrace. the walk up the stairs to see the roofs of the city is in itself worth a night's rent. visit zacatecas, you won't regret it.

You must stay here!
I stayed at HVC for two weeks in January. It's a lovely house, centrally located, with great views across the city. what sets it apart is the hospitality offered by the owner, Ernesto, and his brother Guillermo, who runs the tours. Between the two of them they will ensure you have a great time in the fantastic city of Zacatecas. Their cousin, Chacho, who runs the nearby Todos Santos bar -- haunt of artists and musicians -- is fantastic as well. I had so much fun in Zacatecas. It was easily the highlight of my stay in Mexico.

I felt comfortable and serene
This hostel is the best there is to offer. Friendly staff and impeccably clean facilities. It is conveniently located near all mayor sites in historic downtown. I would recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to or through Mexico.

Awesome staff! Very friendly I felt like I was at home! Gorgeous view! No curfews! I had complete freedom to enjoy my travels despite what time of day/night. The only place in Zacatecas I would return to stay! Thanks Ernesto!

Hostal Villa Colonial is the best hostal that I have ever stayed at. The hostel is the essence of Mexican hospitality. It is family owned and is beautifully constructed. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting Zacatecas and staying at Villa Colonial.

Hello, I really had a great time. The hostel is cheap, helpful, and close to all the attractions in Zacatecas. Great place to meet people from all over the world. This is the perfect hostel for the single traveler.

This has to be one of the best hostels in Latin America. It has the best location in all of Zacatecas. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This hostel sets the standard for all others. Do not stay anywhere else in Zacatecas. This is the one you are looking for.

We are a couple from Spain and we were here last august. We met really nice people, the hostel is beautiful, clean and comfortable, and well situated. If you go to Zacatecas it's the best place to stay!!
