I visited this place last year. I liked it. Yeah, sure, It's a bit weird, and it could use some paint, and maybe some new beds. When you backpack the most important things about the place you're staying at is that you can sleep there, clean up and keep your stuff there. This hostel lies central in the city, near a park, not too far from the beach and Las Ramblas. The market that was mentioned earlier is great!! It's not a place to hang out, but I think that's a good thing. I think I'll be going back.

It's a slum. Nasty people. Unclean, dirty. Horrible place.

It could use some fresh paint, but it is clean. It looks more like a budget hotel than a youth hostel. There is a small sitting area with a TV. It's located in an uninteresting area by a bus station, but it's just two metro stops from Las Ramblas.

Sincerely, I would prefer to sleep outside rather than in this hotel. I was really disappointed by the state of the chambers and by the bad reception. It was twenty euros for this slum hostel--that's a real joke.

The reception of this hotel is very bad. Its cleanliness leaves much to be wished for, and the chambers are true messes. It's a real slum.

I went to this hostel in September 2002. I think it's located quite well. You have a city park nearby where local people have djèmbe-sessions after work (30 people with djèmbes is quite some fun). You can get in no time to the centre and it's nearby a market where they sell wonderful fruits and vegetables... this place is quite alright! The accommodation itself could use some paint, but it's clean and the people who run it are very friendly! See you in September...
