It used to be my second home what happened to babylon? I was there in 2005 and I had such a good time I decided to come back this year and guess what. it has lost the vibe. — jenny , canada (2008-10-25)
I do not usually take the time to post these things but due to my experience I feel that I should inform. Although the hostel is relatively clean it has an atmosphere that is reminiscent of a homeless youth shelter that I once worked at. While traveling with a pack is difficult and many comforts left behind common courtesy and customer service should not be one. I was in a fraternity in the U.S. at WAZZU and even those guys were quiet by five a.m. Talking, partying, etc. is fine and part of travel but management does not set limits nor do they take steps to ensure that rules are followed. I could not care less about drugs and alcohol, while casa babylon has a policy regarding their posession the people there the nights we stayed could not handle their consumption. People were singing, talking, and being incredibly loud all night until past six in the a.m. Also be wary of booking online as they have no direct internet access and ourselves as well as others were told that they did not have reservations. I would not recommend this hostel to persons over the age of sixteen or those looking for a fun friendly hostel experience. This hostel is very cliquish and unless you are part of the crowd here you likely will not feel welcomed. — Jeff (2006-08-02)

If there is a place travelers should check out in this wonderful town it is Babylon, dude!!! Fun, night movies and Tony and his girlfriend's Italian food were amazing (try their lasagna... just do it). Thanks again and see you next year
P.s. To get there just download the map on their Web site and enjoy. — Erin the Gringa (2005-06-21)

Oh, I love this place. I just left the best restaurant-hostel on the f***ing planet. The Italian food is great there (just ask Tony to cook for you) and the place is unbelievable. Check it out mates! — Jack the ripper (2005-06-17)

I stayed at Casa Babylon two years ago. I don't remember the names of the staff, except for Daniel Nemser and my dearest friend Narco, but I loved staying here! — Anonymous (2004-11-09)

This is the only place to be in San Cristobal. It has awesome people. — Anonymous (2004-10-19)
We arrived after a long bus journey into San Cristobal, and went straight away to this hostel. They assured us that they would have a room available, but we had to wait until the other people were out of it. We stored our luggage, ate breakfast somewhere and got back. After another hour waiting, they told us the people decided to stay longer and no other room was available. That was bad service I think. — Martine (2004-08-02)

It's true! Heaven is a place on earth, Casa Babylon. — Luigi (2004-03-17)

If there were more than five stars I would add as many as I can... check it out dude!!! — Love (2004-01-04)

Even though i would rate it 4 stars (good) for amenities, I definitely would rate it 5 stars for the excellent atmosphere. I advise everyone to experience it! — luis (2003-04-25)
