We stayed in one of the newer rooms, in a separate building. It was clean and spacious, with a big bathroom, table and chairs, and lockers (bring your own lock). The kitchen was great. It had everything you need (except a toaster).
It's a fair walk from the center of town but I believe there is a bus. Ask about it at Tourist Information.
The only drawbacks were that the reception didn't open until 4:30 p.m., and closed about 8, so the poor guy who turned up at 8:30 couldn't check in and had nowhere to stay. Also, the pillows weren't too comfortable.
Kolding itself wasn't too interesting but the air was fresh and clean and the town made a good base for day trips to Ribe and Arhus.
