The Hostelz.com Review
San Ignacio Adventure Hostel is currently the only hostel in San Ignacio. It is situated on an expansive, one-block compound and is laid out with nature in mind. Walkways are outside the buildings and doors open directly into their respective rooms.
The Location
The hostel is conveniently located two blocks due west from the bus stop in the middle of the town. Sometimes buses stop only at the town gate entrance to the town. Buses to/from Iguazu and Posadas stop here throughout the day.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorm rooms have door locks but do not have lockers. There are four bunk beds in each room. Each dorm room does have its own bathroom, toilet, and shower. The bathrooms, below average in quality and with a seventies look to them, are a bit on the tight side with no hooks or shelves but there is a towel rack. There is a soap dish in the shower and a medicine cabinet in front of the sink.
Common Spaces
There is a nice TV room with a flat screen TV and two comfy couches. The reception counter is in the room adjacent to the TV room. Right across the front desk are the two internet connected computers with flat screen monitors. Further in this room is the dining hall and huge center located wood burning fireplace. There is also a pool table and ping pong table in the room to the right of the dining hall.
Outside, there is a nice patio or sitting area just outside of the TV room right at the entrance to the hostel. There is a good-sized lawn garden beside this patio and this is where the pool is located. The pool is quite nice but at the time we were there, it looked like at was not being cleaned (as it was approaching winter). There are also many large and tall trees providing excellent shade, a roofed eating area, and a parilla or BBQ pit. With all these common areas, it is easy to meet fellow travelers. It is not a party hostel but rather subdued yet social.
Summary
Overall, this hostel has a good atmosphere to it. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
