The Hostelz.com Review
ABC Hostel is a modern structure in Singapore where backpackers can find the basic facilities at no cost. There is what a traveler needs -- free Wi-Fi and PC, free breakfast, air-con dorm-rooms, quiet atmosphere at an easy walk from all the main attractions.

The Location

The place is near Arab Street, a walk from what you want to see, but there are also many cheap buses if you don't want to walk. The reception is open twenty-four hours, so if you arrive also in the middle of the night, there is always staff to welcome you. From Changi airport there is an easy train (MRT) or you can arrive by bus at almost no cost.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The first impression is that the structure is a recent business, everything from furniture to bathrooms are clean and modern. Dorm rooms lack windows, but they are very quiet rooms with no noise and all are air-conditioned. In every room there are big lockers where you can put your backpack. There are some bathrooms that are clean, small, and with hot/cold water.

Common Spaces

There is a kitchen where in the morning everyone goes for a generous breakfast. In the kitchen there is everything what you need, but not a gas stove -- remember that you are in Asia and it's so cheap to eat out. There is a common area with some tables to eat and a lounge with free internet PC. The hostel is a quiet place to arrive after many hours of flying or to escape the busy Asian city of Singapore. The atmosphere is quiet during the day but in the evening you can meet friendly travelers, including other western travelers, around the reception and internet lounge.

Summary

It's not the cheapest -- it is in the middle -- but you have also to consider that there are many facilities over the western standard for free. It's a nice place for relaxing after a long journey and worth your money.
