Anjali Inn was a bad experience, I will never go there again I arrived at Mumbai international airport at 11pm on Aug. 19, 2010. Weeks in advance, I had booked a single room at Anjali Inn, and specifically asked for a room with internet in the room. A few days before I arrived, I e-mailed Anjali Inn to confirm my reservation and Anjali Inn responded and confirmed it. When I arrived at the airport, an Anjali Inn staff met me at the airport, he called a cab and we waited for the cab to come and drive us to Anjali Inn. When we arrived, Anjali Inn said that Anjali Inn's main building was fully booked but that I could have a room in another building close to the main building. The second building had no internet and no internet in the room (although I booked a room with internet and internet was important to me). The room smelled strongly of paint, and Anjali Inn said they just painted the room and that I was the first guest in the room. I'm no expert but I've heard staying in a closed room that was just painted can be harmful to ones health, so I didn't want to stay there. Now the time was half past midnight and I had to find another place to stay. I wanted to go to a hotel in central Mumbai but didn't know how to find a cab to get there. Anjali Inn said they could get me a cab driver but that it would cost me 1,000 rupees to get to central Mumbai. This sounds very expensive since I read in Lonely Planet that to get from the international airport to central Mumbai should cost 415 rupees (including extra fee after midnight) and Anjali Inn is close to the airport. I was in a bad bargaining position since I only had this cab option and it was late, and after a lot of bargaining with the cab driver he agreed to 650 rupees, which is still expensive. That is, the staff were not helpful when I wanted to go to another hotel. I cannot be completely sure that I was actually at Anjali Inn, but in sum, I wish I had never booked a room at Anjali Inn, and I will never do so again. — Simon , Sweden (2010-08-29)
