Hostelz.com's Review
Hostel Central Station is in a pretty sketchy location, but that's probably to be expected, as it's next to a big train station. We wouldn't recommend arriving here late at night; in fact, we tried to avoid walking back to the hostel after dark.

The Location

If you're leaving on an early train, it's only ten minutes to the station, which is great. If you choose to explore this neighborhood at all, there are a few cafes that are alright (there's one great family-run restaurant right around the corner and a patisserie across the street) but most of the cafes have questionable clientele. Also, you definitely won't find authentic Italian food in this area -- more like fried chicken and kebabs.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms have very high ceilings and large windows to the street. Bedrooms have nightstands and each bed has a light and an outlet. There are also small, square lockers for valuables as well as coat stands. We could feel every single spring in our flat mattress -- the beds are atrocious. Someone makes up the beds daily and gives you a fresh towel, which is awesome. There is no fee for towels.

The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. One is very large and looks out onto the street, and has a washer and dryer. Another is much smaller but has a great rain-style shower head.

Common Spaces

There isn't much in the way of common areas. The lobby is staffed at all times to buzz you into the building from the street. The young Asian girls who work there will respond quickly by email regarding reservations and they speak fine English.

There is a mini-fridge where you can buy sodas, but not a kitchen. We never saw any couches, a TV, or any areas for hanging out.

Summary

For being on a major road, the hostel is surprisingly quiet at night. However, the sketchy location -- there are burlesques and casinos in the neighborhood -- as well as the poor-quality beds and lack of common areas might make you think twice about whether this hostel is the place for you.

Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
5   Quiet, clean, newly decorated Very clean and quiet, on main street and safe. No train noises. Beautiful new towels and freshly decorated spacious rooms with real beds. Excellent value. Not a hostel with a hangout lounge or kitchen, but functional and practical. Run by sweet Asian ladies who speak English are very helpful. 24 hour reception.  , age 61, UK ()
