My 1st Hostel experience was Wanderfalls! I have never been open to shared accommodations and communal living. But My 1st Hostel experience was Wanderfalls! I got what I paid for and more. Wanderfalls is a very popular summertime destination for International travelers. It was like staying at my sister's from another Mother's home. I arrived unprepared, and missed a few tricks, rules, and directions, such as train station taxi fare rip offs, and forgetting to bring towels, and not studying the various bus routes quickly. The Wanderfallsstaff was most helpful when I did have time to familiarize. Such as a working kitchen, 7 AM coffee, preferred taxi drivers, and 3 blocks from a supermarket and bus transfer station. Wanderfalls is a 30 min walk to the American Falls, or $3.40 taxi, or $1.75 hourly bus route. I booked four nights, a month early, and could get two nights in a bunk bed private room, with a move to a dual bunk bed, four bed "dorm" room for the weekend. The mattress was firm and good for my back. The weekend was booked solid. Wanderfalls is not responsible for the weather that on Saturday NIGHT was a freaky hazy, hot, and humid, and made for sweltering slumber with as little clothes as possible. There are windows in each room, and fans, But the AC is generally limited. There is a bathroom upstairs and a toilet and sink room and a shower stall room in the basement. Which serves to alleviate wait times. All in All wanderfalls is a great value, strategically located, in a scenic, majestic, historic, still somewhat downtrodden and depressed western New York city, by the oldest state park in the USA. Excellent, friendly, clean This is really convenient to the falls and the local sights. Very friendly lady, very helpful with connections and local information. Nice kitchen and common areas. Very clean and comfortable bedroom and bathrooms, lots of hot water for showers. Wi-Fi free and a computer to access. — Rick & Irene , USA (2009-07-16)
