Jomtien Hostel is a fresh and new-looking hostel from the inside. A welcoming entrance and swift check in and brief tour of the facilities in the hostel, including laundry service, internet, safety lockers, and a kitchen/cafe.
The Location
Located in Soi 12 just off Jomtien Beach Road, it is two-hundred-fifty meters' walk to the end of the road on the righthand side. It does not look like much from the outside, although it is clearly labeled as the Jomtien Hostel.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There is lift to take you to all floors. The room is large and spacious with air conditioning and en-suite bathroom and a balcony with a view over to the seafront. The room is very clean and they clean it on a daily basis if you want it. The room also has a TV and a fridge.
Common Spaces
The hostel is not busy at the moment as it is the low season. There were other guests staying but are only seen in passing. The only communal area is the kitchen, but it is not a kitchen that guests are free to use but for staff to take an order for breakfast or lunch and prepare it for you. The prices are reasonable but they only offer a basic selection of foods.
Summary
Overall, we are pleased with the hostel and the cleanliness is impeccable. There could be a better atmosphere with more guests.

The staff were very friendly and helped as best as they could, but I wouldn't rely on them too much. The evening prior I inquired about booking transport (via bus) directly from the hostel to Bangkok International Airport (as advertised next to reception). When I asked, I was told to inquire in the morning just before 8am. I had hoped to get on the 9am bus, but when I asked about it again in the morning I was told it was too late. I still made the 9am bus, but I had to get to the bus terminal myself in a little bit of a rush. Also worth mentioning, though minor, when I first checked in they put me in the wrong room and then had me move an hour later. I still wouldn't go so far to say "don't stay here." The hostel is clean and the rooms spacious. There's wi-fi and the restaurant has a reasonably priced menu, though not all items may be available. It is situated a ways from all the action in Pattaya, so it is nice and quiet. If you just need a quiet place to stay and don't have any questions, this is still not a bad hostel.
