Funny Dolphin Hostel is the Hostel in Sevastopol.
We can write almost a book here about how good we are, but we are not going to do that, here is just a short list of facts about us and our hostel:
-We are located in the historical city center of Sevastopol. One bus stop from the train station and 2 bus stops from the bus station , you can take any bus number to go to the bus stop Suvorova ploschad'= Suvorov's square
- Our well traveled staff speaks perfect English ,
- We have 12 bed mixed dorm and a private double room, with its own TV, air-conditioner and a wardrobe.
- we have a spacy full equipped kitchen .
- Out of all the hostels in Ukraine, we organise the best tours, taking you out to Balaklava Submarine base, Crimean and World War II discovering tours, Yalta and Bachisaray day tours. ALL of our tours are backpacker priced, which means they are really cheap.
- we also can help you out in buying train and bus tickets for your trips to Yalta, Simferopol, Kiev, Lviv, Turkey and other places.
- We are in unbeatable location. 10 min walk to Nachimov and Lazrev square, where most of the clubs and bars are. 1 min. walk is the nearest police station and a hospital. 1 min. is the biggest in Sevastopol souvenir market + supermarket, 5 min. walk to Panorama and Black see fleet museum.

The place is very cute, but a little out of the way. We were able to walk to the main part of town, but I would have liked to have stayed a little closer. The hostel was very clean and homey, the only problem was our housemates, who stayed up really late singing, right outside our door. I know it's a hostel, but it would be nice if things like that could be controlled more.

It is located right in the city center and it is the best hostel you can find in Ukraine. It's air-conditioned, clean, spacy and it is in the beautiful city. If I went to Ukraine again, I'd go to this hostel for sure and I would spend more days in Sevastopol. It is definetely worth it.

We booked two rooms for 4 people, and it happened that the apartment had only 2 rooms, so basically we got a full apt, a place to park the car just in the middle of the city. Yuri, the owner of the place is a super guy, I really appreciated his help. This was probably the best place we stayed in Ukraine, highly recommended!

Do N O T go there.
There is no staff there, only a phone with which you can call someone.
They basicly just rent beds.
Make sure you have a cell phone with you and that you have the number of them.
As I said no staff is there, and if all the guests have left, well you can wait outside.
There is also no sign that says that it is a hostel, just phone number outside on the door, BUT at night/evening there is no light, so you do not see that.
I booked a double room online, got the confirmation of the reservation, then 15min later a cancelation (which I didn't see any more and usually if you get a confirmation you count on that). So we had no double room, I also only saw two bedrooms (one has glass walls, that means if the light is on in the kitchen or hallway you do not need light in the room to read, excellent for sleeping :( ). I do not know why the don't cover the glass with curtains.
Honestly a weird place, try to find some other place, private or cheap hotel.
The staff was very arrogant, when I showed them my reservation, they said, well we do not check this website any more. I also did not get refund of the money which was already deduced from my credit card..... They always did as if it was my fault to book on a website which they do not check any more..... So, again, try to find another place!!!!

I had a great time at Funny Dolphin! The hostel is centrally located, close to everything, the owner, Yuriy is extremely friendly and will help you with anyting you need during your stay in Ukraine. Also, you will find a fully equipped kitchen here, a balcony, TV, just everything you need!If I come back to Sevastopol one day, I'll definitely stay here again! :)

A really nice place to stay during a visit to Sevastopol. From the outside the building will look very shabby but once you get inside, it's modern, clean and totally up to Western standards.. The staff is also very helpful.

You'd never guess from the outside that this was a hostel, but the inside is newly kitted out and although there is no permanent staff presence, they made themselves available to give useful advice about what to see and how to get around. And I will admit that I prefer the small, quiet atmosphere to the full-on, up-all-night hostelling experience. For me it was a great home base for exploring Crimea and I shall almost certainly be returning next year.

Had an excellent time in Sevastopol and really enjoyed this hostel. Personally, I really liked the fact that for three of the 4 nights I was here I had the whole place to myself (there don't seem to be many tourists in Crimea at this time of year (October)). On the fourth night there was just one other person staying which was cool as well. It was great to be in a hostel where you weren't awoken at all hours by selfish idiots returning from a night "partying".However, I suspect the hostel will be much busier in the Summer months, so maybe my experience wasn't typical, although due to it's relatively small size, I don't envisage any problems in this regard.I thought the people who ran the hostel (Marina and Yuriy) were fantastic - they were on hand to answer any queries etc. It was very clean and had all the facilities advertised except for internet access - but there were cheap internet cafe's in the vicinity anyway so that was no problemI definitely recommend this hostel and would come back again without hesitation.Mick Brooks (England, UK).
