Description
One of the most centrally located and newly renovated (January 2009) backpackers in Darwin. Dingo Moon is independently owned and operated, offering more value for money. Dingo Moon's location allows easy access to all shops, attractions and popular entertainment venues within the Darwin area.
A favourite feature of this lodge is the beatifully scented, white flowering Frangipani tree that abounds a sparkling Aegean blue pool. This area of the lodge has a unique flavour of togetherness for its guests, where they can exchange stories over a BBQ of their experience in the great 'never never' land of the Northern Territory.
The lodge offers a variation of rooms to suit every type of traveller. All rooms are air conditioned, some are equipped with fridges and lockers.
Internet is available in the internet room as well as WiFi/wireless access throughout the remainder of the lodge.
For a small fee, there is an airport shuttle bus that will deliver you directly to the lodge.
If you require additional tour, attraction or travel bookings, this can be done through our friendly reception staff.
Dingo Moon also provides access to laundry and ironing facilities.
Chilled water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available free of charge.

This hostel is fine, it feels like a beach house, different rooms over looking courtyards and a pool etc. Breakfast is all you can eat toast and cereal (and tea/coffee) which is one of the best things about it. The other good thing is the excellent staff, especially young Aussie lass Rhyanna, she knows everything about Darwin and all the tours every company does and can provide heaps of help with all these. So all in all the hostel is just a place to sleep (and meet lots of partygoers if that's your thing), but it's the breakfast and (as I said above) the really good staff who make it above average.

Relaxed, in a quite part of the city but still close to all the action. Not a party hostel, one of the few in Darwin where you actually can get some sleep.

The breakfast, staffs were friendly and quite flexible, the location was good because it's far enough from the loud pubs but close enough to walk to city centre

The size of the rooms are very good, even if you have to share with many people who have lots of lugguage.

Good breakfast included in the price !!Internet connectivity is stupid. You got to buy a 10$ card first and then top it up with money. Totally stupid when you are staying there for 1 or 2 nights and need to urgently check mail for just 5 minutes. Also, please inform earlier or put up notices that we have to remove our sheets and bring it to the reception before leaving. Not so nice to know it when you are rushing to go the airport and have just enough time just to hand over the keys and get the deposit back. But overall, definitely recommendable place to stay !

Went back there after the previous issue with the mattress. It seems that they're in the process of replacing all the "bad" mattresses. Would definitely stay again.

The only thing that made me move was the quality of their mattresses. Sleeping on a foam mattress for more than a single night will give you back pain. Guaranteed. Everything else was nice and well maintained.
