Description
HABITAT HOSTELS, Singapore's only boutique flashpackers hostel, is the best choice for budget travelers looking for an environment of personal service, pampered luxury and chic furnishings, coupled with an excellent location.
Our fully air-conditioned rooms feature the unique first-of-it's-kind pod dorms (to follow the Japanese pod-styled capsule idea) to provide backpacker's with unparalleled privacy and personal space. The pod is self-enclosed while remaining spacious, and features its own reading light and a small ledge for personal items.
Capitalizing on personal service that includes regular social activities, games, outings and in-house themed parties (Popiah party, anyone?) will serve as an excellent icebreaker amongst guests at the hostel.
Habitat Hostel is housed in a 3-storey pre-war shophouse with a charming Chinese Baroque façade. We are the only hostel strategically located at Devonshire Road, just a 2-minute walk to Orchard Road - the epicenter of Singapore's premium shopping and entertainment belt. Being located a stone's throw away from Orchard Road and Somerset MRT stations gives Habitat Hostel the advantage of being easily accessible yet being away from it all. It is so unbelievably close to Orchard road yet the room was nice and quiet. Really easy to get to and from the airport because the Somerset MRT is so close. It's a little tricky to find at first as it doesn't have a big sign with it's name on and the road signing is a bit odd. The front of the hostel is white with orange gates and it is next to a red chinese looking place (look for the shoes outside the door of the hostel) You basically head out of the station and go right, stay on the big road, it's opposite the youth park which has a big red bus in it. Very good location, the bed was really really comfy and the room was air conditioned. Free internet was great and very useful. The rooms are very secure! there's also a bit of a knack to opening the doors, I managed to lock myself out a few times but there''s usually someone around to help and you get used to it. Reassuringly secure! Can't stress the great location. I walked everywhere. If you want to go on a massive shopping spree and save money on accommodation and spend it on clothes this place is perfect.

It felt like home staying here. It wasn't too busy, plenty of showers and toilets. Very comfortable beds, great movie room and nice to have free internet. Its also a few minutes walk from Orchard St and the metro, so very convenient. Staff are very friendly and immediately make you feel welcome which was important for me as I was travelling alone.

Decent location, clean room. Showers could be cleaner but other than that, happy with my stay.

Just a couple of streets away from Orchard Road. Great central location and well worth the money for the facilities. Awesome place to stay.

More like a stylish hotel, but with bunkbeds. Certainly not the average backpacker haunt, more attractive to shopping types and city slickers. A bit more pricey than the average but pays you back in location, facilities and brilliant staff. A stylish home from home.

I have stayed in many hostels...this must be one of the best!! super location next to MRT, very friendly staff, excellent beds in 10 dorm blue room. A+++ worth the extra money in my opinion. I would have loved to stay longer. Look no further this is a great place to stay in singapore.

The hostel was amazing! If you would like to have a few relaxing days in Singapore, this is definitely the place to go! The beds are so comfy and everything is so clean. Plus more friendly staff and excellent location, close (like a 5-minute walk) to the shopping street and tube station. It is an small hostel, so easy to get to know the other people! And, ever found a hostel where you can do your laundry for free? Well, here you can! Thanks you!

Never have i been to a hostel thats so welcoming! As soon as you walk through the door you feel at home and free too chill out at the hostel for the day unlike other places where you cant wait to get out and only use the place for sleeping. The staff were great and really accomodating, the facilities were fantastic and location perfect. Only one bad point...dont go for one of the top pod-bunks in the rooms its like an oven....a very comfortable oven but they seriously need a mini fan in there. Thankyou for a great stay

For the price you pay here for a dorm room we expected more. We would stay here again but it needs improving. Its new but yet things are falling off the wall everywhere (bath rails etc) and the amount of light bulbs out is unreal!! The bathroom needs cleaning more than once a day and the toilet rolls need topping up more reguarly. The girls who run it are lovely and the free washing, internet and breakfast go far!!!

Its location and the helpfulness of the staff when we wanted to sightsee.

it's really close to orchard so you can get around very easily. Anyway, i have one comment though. every guest should be considerate for others becoz all facilities especailly the toilet can get dirty very easily and i have personally met some of the unconsiderate guests. so that it, rather than that i think everything is good

The free breakfast, juice, and tea throughout the day was wonderful, as were the movie room, the capsule beds, and the friendly guests and staff!
