Our special location , set right next to the beach, allow you to walk easily all over the city or take a bike or longskate for a good ride along the coast path.
In the hostel, full of good mates and travelers, you will find large common areas, cable TV and our famous weekly BBQ on the terrace . Here you can relax & sink a couple of beers while watching the stars.
If at night you wanna go out , some good bars are next to us and if you don't feel like : there is fully equipped kitchen for you to use, before watching a good movie….

Set up in the museum area of Mar del Plata, Hostel del Mar is only 2 blocks from the nicest beach of the city Playa Varese, 100 meters from the commercial street Calle Guemes and that close from the center that you can go anywhere you want walking. • From the bus terminal : • We are so close to the bus station that you can reach us walking. First take street Sarmiento until Avenida Colon, then a few more blocks heading to the sea. Hostel del Mar is located on Avenida Colon n°1051 • A cab will cost you only 5 pesos !! • From the train station : • First take any bus that bring you to Plaza Colon, here take bus n°221 that will drop you right in front of the hostel door (bus-stop : Museo del Mar) • A cab will cost you only 10 pesos. • From the airport : • First take any bus that bring you to Plaza Colon, here take bus n°221 that will drop you right in front of the hostel door (bus-stop : Museo del Mar) • A cab will cost you only 25 pesos.

This property is quite roomy, ample space in the rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, back courtyard, and front common room. It is two blocks from the beach, perfect location! The area is safe to walk at night and near the main shopping street Guemes. Various buses that go along the coast stop across the street from the hostel! The place was really nice. Playa Varese, where the hostel is located, is one of the best places in Mar del Plata. The staff was really friendly and helpfull.
