Great courtyards and chill out places. Relaxed vibe. Pity about the road noise. Taxi drivers also have probs finding it.

For the price, there is breakfast and hot drinks. Hostel is smart, very well run and comfortable. District a bit dodgy but hostel always locked and secure. Excellent efficient and friendly staff. Nice common area. Went back for one night on my way south. Got largest room at no extra cost. Great!

The hostel was lovely, with a common room decorated with Christmas lights and little cafe tables and a large shared kitchen. Lots of people and activity, but everyone was considerate and quieted down after 10 pm. Tons of pamphlets and help figuring out the Bus system. A little more expensive than some places, but one of my favorite places we stayed in Costa Rica. Breakfast, however, was just two pieces of bread and some jelly, and all the coffee and tea you wanted. Better than no breakfast, I suppose. They had beer and soda for sale at the hostel for a high price, but nice to have it available once the stores close.

Lovely hostel with pretty garden, comfy beds and good amenities like free wifi and hot showers. Difficult for taxi to find however, and staff spoke little English. Very quiet too, only one other person in 10 beds. Overall, nice, quiet, safe and good choice if comfort is your preference.

nice workers, friendly vibe, nice private rooms-- with wireless, nice beds and bathrooms. the only slightly negtive thing was that the free breakfast was two pieces of white toast with coffee. also, the neighborhood at night does not look safe-- bums around. but i am going to stay there again when i fly out of san jose!

The hostel staff were incrediblty helpful in planning future travel plans. Included toast for breakfast and free internet were great. Rooms were clean and comfortable and bathrooms good. Only odd thing was the dorm we stayed in seemed to be a throughfare to a social room for the staff and their friends so random people would wonder in and out...would still have stayed longer just maybe have questioned whether it was necessary. The area around the hostel didn`t feel very safe at night but I think the same can be said for the rest of San Jose! All in all, lovely hostel, lovely staff.
