The Hostelz.com Review
The Niagara Falls Backpacker's Hostel is lovely. It's on a quiet residential street not far from the main street of Niagara Falls town and about a 30 minute easy walk to the tourist area and falls. It has the vibe of staying at a family friend's cozy house. It is family run and they obviously care about the place and it's well looked after and very clean.

There's free internet and breakfast. The breakfast is nice but finishes early (9am). It consists of juice, coffee, fruit, toast, spreads, and homemade muffins. The beds are incredibly comfy and linen is included. There are plenty of bathrooms to go around and most rooms are ensuite. The shower is excellent! It has decent pressure and you can control the temperature. There's a kitchen and lounge room both with TVs. The atmosphere is not especially lively but it's just a nice place to be and relax.

It's difficult to fault this place. The only minor problems might be the breakfast finishes quite early, the staff are a little slow.

Fantastic
We stayed at this hostel for three nights in december 2007 and loved it, the staff are very friendly and the place is clean and cozy. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean with a decent shower. The breakfast does finish a bit early but once you have had your breakfast you can just go back to bed. The homemade muffins are lovely. I would recommend this hostel to anyone.

Nice old building, friendly staff
Attractive brick building with wonderful furnishings inside. Wood floors may creak a bit, so don't expect to go sneaking around without alerting others. We stayed in a private room on the east side of the building, separate from the bunk rooms which are on the west side. I'm tall and the bed we slept in had head and foot boards, so I did not sleep as well as my shorter wife. Parking can be a problem as the back of the hostel, as seen in one of the photographs, abuts a municipal parking area for workers -- be prepared to squeeze your vehicle into a small space. Shower for the private room seemed a bit small for a person my size. Owners, proud of their progeny's hockey skills, prefer not to accept credit cards for payment -- be prepared to pay with cash. Easy access to walk along the river. Owners have recommendations for where to go to get lots of food for not a lot of money -- the diner near the library serves huge portions, so be prepared to share or take some back to the hostel. Overall, a decent stay for the money.

Super!
One of the best Backpacker Hostels I've ever been! Nice and familiar house, good breakfast (yummy muffins), and the the staff is really friendly and helpful!

Absolutely beautiful!
This hostel alone is worth a trip to Niagara Falls! The interior and rooms are individually and beautifully furnished and arranged. The staff is very caring, helpful and friendly. The breakfast is delicious (the muffins and the strawberry jam!). Don't miss this opportunity when you come to Niagara Falls!

I stayed in this hostel for two days in June 2006 and really liked it. The hostel is small, pretty and very clean and the staff is friendly. It felt like I was staying at a friend's house instead of in a hostel. For twenty dollars per night, you get free internet, free sheets, free towels, and free breakfast which includes yummy home-made banana muffins, toast, juice, and coffee. There is washroom and shower in the room but also two more washrooms with shower outside the rooms for everybody to share. So you never need to wait for anybody in the morning. The showers are clean, strong, and hot. Even though I really liked this hostel, there are still some little things I want to complain. First, the beds are short. I am only five feet three but my feet touches the railing at the end of the bed when I lie down straight. Second, it took full forty-five minutes for the shower to get hot. So be patient when you want to take a shower, don't step in until you are sure the water are hot enough! Third, the hostel is a bit far from all the attractions (about twenty minutes of walk from the falls) but you can always take the People Mover which has a stop right outside on the main road.

This hostel is located in an absolutely beautiful historic home. The hosts were pleasant and even packed us a sack breakfast to take along, since we had an early departure! (Three pieces of fruit, muffin, juice box for each). The bathroom is excellent and is kept very clean. The room was clean and the matress comfortable. The kitchen was usuable and there was plenty of comfortable common space to socialize in. Although a long walk to the falls, it is a beautiful walk. It is, however, just two or three blocks from the train and bus stations. (I might not make the walk at three in the morning, alone, but it was fine during daylight.) The only fault is that the computer is old and slow. Don't plan to copy your digital pictures off your camera here.

this place is amazing! the house is beautiful and the owners are very kind. there is a curfew, but they will let you in late night, as long as you tell them in advance. theres a great homemade breakfast and its walking distance from the falls.

This is a great little hostel in Niagara Falls. Everything was very clean and the rooms are nice and cozy. Although, I was a little disappointed with the "breakfast" in the morning, overall, the price you pay is a great deal for a good night's sleep!

This is the best hostel I ever visited (since Australia, New Zealand, England and Canada!). You will be welcomed as if you are a member of the family. Have a private room, it's very cheap and comfortable (and romantic for couples). This is a beautiful Victorian house, on a very quiet street. You'll love the breakfast, with all you can drink and eat. And you will have a nice walk to the falls on the side of the river (20 minutes.) Merci, Charlie!

I stayed here for just one day but this hostel is a really excellent place. The location is not convenient, but you can rent a bicycle. The owner's family is amazing kind. Their breakfast is also amazing nice! They serve muffins, bread, cereal, apples, milk, and fruit juice. I've never seen anything like this great free breakfast! You should stay here if you come to Niagara!
