I miss the hostel, the AMAZING people I met when I stayed there for 3 ½ month in 1998. It was SO great and it changed my life. — Mette Nielsen , Denmark (2011-07-14)

i lived at no1 for 4 months in 1996, had a great time and meet tons of cool people, lots of hangovers. the bus stop was the place to go on a sunday for a proper fryup, bacon and all. — jay , new zealand (2011-07-07)

I was working there for one month 1997 It was a great time in the number one hostel. The No.1 Hostel was one of the safe hostels. Too sad that it be closed. I meet there in april 1997 the father of my daughter and had in the beginning a wonderful time with him. But since March 1998 i've never seen him again. So everyone, who is traveling I will say, Take care of yourself and look carefully with who you're hanging around. It could be dangerous! — Katja , german (2009-12-22)

Fond Memories I stayed in 1996 with a friend and I will never forget the experience. The breakfast was tomato and cucumber sandwiches -- WTF! I went there on a bender and loved every minute apart from the religious freaks who got a "calling" from above! And some of these were professional men with families! Sad to hear its gone now because we often reminisce about this journey in our lives. — Steve ov Rugby UK , British (2008-08-28)

Excellent i stayed there in 1992, by far the best hostel in israel, love to come back. — Nico Basson , cape town south africa (2007-12-22)

I stayed here in 1999 for a few months and it's sad to see the hostel life slowly coming to a end. I've just returned from Israel (02 oct 2006) and the hostel prices have gone up alot in the space of a few years. it's hard to find a hostel for under 50 nis and private rooms start at 130-200 nis a day. (when a breakfast is mentioned, which is included, it's a boiled egg, two slices of bread, a tiny tub of butter, and a weak cup of coffee --this is known as a continental breakfast in Israel). Good luck to any traveler going to Israel as you need a lot more cash than before. I keep going back as I love it there, but plenty more cash in the wallet. — Peter (2006-10-06)

This hostel is closed! It's a real shame; it was a very cool place. I was there today (June 3) and it's not open. — Paul Chandler, London (2004-06-03)

Shalom. I went there today, and it's closed down. It's a real shame because four years ago you could not get a room here sometimes. It's a sign of the times in Israel. Regards to all the good people who were there when I was. It was one of the coolest places in Tel Aviv to be. — Paul Chandler, London (2004-06-03)

I stayed here in 2000 and 2001. There are lots of fun people to explore Tel-Aviv with, and it's close to everything. Inside the hostel is a nice bar, and there's a good view of Tel-Aviv from the balcony. Clean and tidy, this hostel is a must! — Paul Chandler, London (2004-05-27)
