I Loved This Place! I was so comfortable here that I doubled my stay. It was low season so the place was pretty empty. The rooms are nice and spacious with a big sink and mirror and the bathrooms were home-like. I felt like I was staying in a house rather than a hostel. It was a pleasure to take a shower every morning which is nice after using so many hostel facilities. Below is a great little cafe with lots of character, delicious food, and homemade desserts. Staff are friendly and accommodating. There were no locks on the doors so I had to take security precautions with my belongings. The main door, which is away from the street, is locked so I felt safe. I found this place to be great value for money. A real find in the winter! — Anonymous (2010-10-14)
"And they call this boutique backpacker accommodation?" The pictures supplied to this site give a false impression of what one finds on arrival. The only thing this place has going for it, is that it is a stone's throw from the ferry terminal. And even though the bed was comfortable, there was absolutely no security, no lockers, no locks on the room doors, and in our case, the door did not even close properly. To top that off, the kitchenette and bathrooms were filthy. The toilets were stained and the shower curtains could grow next year's crop of tomatoes. In the little, well appointed kitchenette, everything was sticky and dirty -- the toaster, the jug, the toaster-oven, and the (bar)fridge (which btw, was in the adjoining hallway). There were boxes of rubbish which had not been emptied for some time. The carpet is nailed down, but has stretched since laid, and consequently did no longer lay flat. Very dangerous. I was waiting for someone to trip. Definitely not the sort of place to which I would want to return. — Lifemagician , Australia (2010-03-24)
