Description
Berunes is ideally situated at an amazing seafront. This place is centrally located for those who are travelling between north and south, like Skaftafell National Park and the Myvatn area or in connection to ferry Norraena in Seydisfjordur.
The hostel is a charming farmhouse, built at the beginning of last century and yet offers some modern facilities and small & romanttic double and family rooms. Part of the accommodation is in a newer building with 1 - 4 person rooms, a kitchen fac. and a living room with a fireplace and wonderful east-Icelandic view. Berunes also offer 3 self catering cottages, each of them takes rom 2 - 5 people.
You can get breakfast and meals typical of Icelandic cuisine in Gestastofan; our small familoy restaurant next to the Hostel. Guest are kindly asked to order meals/breakfast when booked or at arrival. Wireless internet is availaible.
Starting in 2008, guests have been able to give Berunes comments and rates through the booking web and since then, Berunes has been rated a top 5 Hostel worldwide. Berunes is certified as a Green hostel.

I wish I could spend every summer in Berunes! This hostel is one of the best ones the world. It's a charming old Icelandic farm, perfectly renovated and kept in shape with love/an eye for details. The landscape makes you want to forget about the rest of the world. I will never forget the sun shining golden at 24:00. It's just you and the fjord reflecting mother earth's beauty.
